This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life.

Hi, this is Chad Harrison and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years.

I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life.

I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up.

His word to you and allow you.

To see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today in Jesus name.

Well, good morning. Welcome to Lake Community Church's morning Bible study. We are in Deuteronomy, chapter 30.

We're gonna do verses one through ten because it is.

We talk about prophecy. And oftentimes when you're studying through the Bible, when you're a Christian, when you grow up in church,

when you begin to read the Bible and you begin to come across these prophecies and they come true,

oftentimes it becomes,

I guess, passe. You know, it just becomes one of those things you expect. I mean, we expect that when God says something in his word, that it's going to come tr.

True. If it's a prophecy in the sense of.

When I say prophecy, remember, prophecy is any relation of a spiritual truth that can only be discerned spiritually. Okay,

but. But when we're talking about a foretelling of the future,

that's a powerful form of prophecy. It's a. It's. It's. When you say that God said, thus saith the Lord, God's going to do this. And then it happens. And especially when it happens, you know,

hundreds and thousands of years later, that's. I mean, that is. Well, the truth is that is the fingerprint of God on His Word, if there is any. And there's lots of fingerprints of God on His Word.

But if there is one that says, you know, a being beyond time and space wrote this book because he lives in all time and space at the same time,

for better word, time,

he knows what's going. He's omnipresent, meaning he's everywhere at all times.

When we understand that and fully get it, and then he says this is going to happen and it happens,

well, that's God. That's evidence and proof of God. And so when you're reading this,

it is really cool and exciting to run across one that, you know,

know, it's obvious that it's come true and it's obvious that it's real. For me, the book of Daniel was always that way for me because it, it has such explicit prophecies that explicitly come true that you know,

it's like, well, it's like most people thought that the book was written hundreds of years after it was written and it couldn't be, it couldn't actually be written the way it was because I mean it predicts like whole empires and gives like the way they become victorious and they're,

you know,

the animal that represents them.

And all of it came true. It's just, it's amazing.

And so sometimes with us as believers when we read that,

it becomes passe to us because the Bible is the only spiritual text. It's the only book that claims seems to be,

you know, from God, a spiritual writing.

And I'm talking about the Quran and all those other things. It's the only one that prophesies and is accurate 100%. It's the only one that has those type of, it's the only one that says thus saith the Lord.

And then it happens 500 years later. It's just the only one that does that.

And so it makes the Bible very unique in,

in a way that would, would be self evident to itself. It's self proving.

And so,

and so when we come across this passage and we literally live in the time when this passage is coming to pass,

okay, I mean we live now. You know, I wasn't alive when it started,

you know, back in the 1940s, but you know, I live in an age where it's quite clear that this is happening.

It's happening.

It's a promise of God to his people that when they, you know, when they fail and go into captivity,

when they fail to do what he's told them to do and all the books before, you know, the five books before, when he tells them how they should live and how they should be in the promised land and he delivers them to it and all that kind of stuff.

He gives them a prophecy that he'll bring them back to the land and what'll happen when they bring them back.

And it's on the money.

It is on the money.

It is. I mean,

and it's happening now,

2,000 years after they were taken into captivity in 70 A.D. when the Romans sacked Jerusalem and destroyed Israel and took most of the Jewish people and spread them all over the world, which we know all about.

And we,

we realized that there were some left, but most of the Jewish people That we know in the United States and most of the Jewish people that have returned back to Israel since 1948,

really, they started returning back at the first part of the last century, but the majority of them returned from 1948 to today.

We know that they were the people that were taken into captivity by the Romans and,

you know, spread all over the Roman Empire. I mean, we know that. We know that. I mean, all that stuff is just like history. That's just.

It's not laying hard history. It's just we know that that's what happened.

And so when we read this here, it's just, like,

so cool.

It's just so cool to come across it and go, wow, God was right.

Now it shall come to pass, verse chapter 30, verse 1.

When all these things come upon you, the blessings and the curse which I've set before you, the blessings being how it's going to be when you live here. And they did live there for 1500 years with a little bit of captivity in between.

They were taken into captivity by the Babylonians, and then eventually the Persians destroyed the Babylonian empire and the Persian king allowed them to go back and rebuild the temple. That's Nehemiah, Ezra and Nehemiah.

Those books tell that story.

But they lived in. In Israel for 1500 years. I mean, they lived in the promised land, you know, roughly 15, 13, 14, 1500 years.

And then. And then they're taken into captivity, he says,

and you call to mind, among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you. Notice they're going to remember when they're among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you.

Now, this. This is literally last century,

okay? They begin to come back to Israel in large numbers at the start of last century.

Lots of Jews still living in Israel,

but not near the number there are today.

And then really start coming back after Israel becomes a Nation in 1948. He says,

when you're among all the nations which we know they were,

where the Lord your God drive you, who drove them there? God did. How do we know? Jesus said they would. Jesus said that the city would be destroyed, that the temple would be.

Not one stone would be left on it.

And you return to the Lord your God and obey his voice according to all that I command you today when you return and actually begin to follow what the Bible says.

And by the way, they do. They do follow the Bible. Even the secular Jews,

the culture over there is very biblical,

okay? You and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul,

that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity and have compassion on you.

And now this is not the captivity that was spoken of in Babylon and Persia because they weren't in all the nations. They were in Babylon. And then the Persian empire took the Babylonian empire and they were in the same place,

and then they came back to Israel. This is not that prophecy. This is another prophecy.

And he says,

when I gather you from the nations that's only done. Been done once and that happened in last. In the last century,

isn't it cool?

It is to me.

If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven from the Lord your God,

from there the Lord your God will gather you. And from there he will bring you. He did.

Russia, China,

the United States, they didn't even know the United States. They didn't even know North America, South America were here.

South America, North America, Alaska, I mean, from all over the world,

from the farthest parts of the world.

He says if really, if you read it without the, the, the words that we add to make it makes sense, if of you are driven out to the farthest under heaven,

from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there he will bring you,

then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed and you shall possess it. They do.

He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. And he has. He has. This has happened.

Of the Jewish population of the world,

about 8 million of them live in Israel. This is rough numbers. Eight million of them live in the United States. And then,

you know, about 500,000 live elsewhere.

He's gathered them back to Israel and the United States. But, but they're in Israel. And a lot of Jewish people that live here in the United States go back and forth to Israel all the time.

Why? Because that's where the family is. I mean, he's gathered them there.

And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul that you may live.

And I believe this is a prediction of a great awakening in Israel, a great spiritual awakening that will take place and I believe before the end times begin that one of the hallmarks of that will be a great turning toward Jesus of the Jewish people.

And there are a lot of messianic Jews today,

a lot of messianic Jews. So it's not like it couldn't happen very well could. I believe that circumcision of the heart is the filling of The Holy Spirit. I believe that.

Well, we know that that terminology is used to, to describe the new birth too. Okay,

wow, what a powerful passage.

Also, the Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecute you.

And he's done that. I'm telling you, if you don't have studied the history of Israel since 1948,

the Six Day War, the Yom Kippur War, the original,

when they began as a nation, 1948, they were attacked by all the countries around them, attacked by Lebanon and Syria and Iraq and Jordan and Egypt. They were attacked by all of them, all of them around them.

And they won.

They won.

And, and they, they won war after war, and they're even in a war right now to clean out Gaza. And they are winning. They're wi. They, they,

they win all the time.

In fact, I mean, they,

they bombed basically Iran in the last year back to the Stone Age as far as their ability to fight a war in the sky. They destroyed their air defenses. Their, their Iran is naked today.

If Israel wanted to destroy anything in Iran, they could just absolutely destroy them in moments notice.

And you will. So, so what has he said? He said, I'm going to put a curse on all your enemies and all, all those who hate you and persecute you.

And he has. I mean, this is going on today.

And you will again obey the voice of the Lord and do all his commandments, which I command you today.

The Lord your God will make you abound in all the works of your hands, in the fruit of your body.

So he's going to make them prosperous, he's going to make them strong economically. I mean, that's happening today. I mean, it's happening during our time. We get to see a prophecy of God in our time going on.

I know you go, well, God's going to bring it, come back real soon in the Revelation. Well, he might. And it could be. But I tell my, when I'm speaking,

teaching through the Revelation, I've been doing that for the last year at night, on Wednesday nights, I tell them, I don't know when this is going to take place. It could take place in the next 15, 20 years.

It could take place in the next hundred years. It could be two or three hundred years from now. Really? Really. Because there are things that need to happen and you just don't have to study that Bible study with me at other times.

But the truth is, is that he says here,

he says here that the Lord God will make you abound in all the works of your hands. And Israel is a prosperous nation in the fruit of your body, meaning they're going to be lots of Jewish babies born, and they are in the increase of your livestock and in the produce of your land.

And Israel has become just a garden of the Middle East. And I'm telling you, in the early part of last century, it was a desolate desert. Is desert with very little water and very little people and only nomads living there other than in the city of Jerusalem and.

And then a few other places that it was a desolate place.

He says.

He says they going to make. He's going to produce the fruit of the body and increase their livestock and produce in your land for good. For the Lord will again,

will again rejoice over you for good as he rejoiced over your fathers.

So he's going to take joy in who they are. And I believe this is happening right now.

If you obey the voice of the Lord your God to keep his commands and his statutes, which are written in his book of the law,

and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

and they have the Jewish people after the Holocaust turned back to God.

They really did. Now you go, I know there's some Jewish people in New York and, you know, places in the United States that don't believe in God. I know that.

Okay? But that's not the majority of the Jewish people.

Majority of the Jewish people still worship our God now. They don't believe in Jesus, but I believe that's going to change, too,

and they're going to be reunited.

What a powerful thing to be able to sit here and read something that was written,

you know, 3,500 years ago as a prophecy,

and it is coming to pass today.

You know, it's just as amazing as the book of the Revelation is. And all the things in the Revelation that,

you know, you can tell are happening around you, that you can see have happened and go, and that was written 2,000 years ago, and it's happening right now. And it's so cool.

And it is, but this was written 3500 years ago, and it's happening right now.

And it's literally happening right now. I mean, we're. We're not waiting on other things to happen other than maybe the. The turning toward Jesus. But,

you know, we have Jewish people in our church who are Messianic Jews.

So I. I know that I've pastored many Messianic Jews,

and they believe in Jesus and so this is such a cool. I mean it is such a I that's why I if you said Chad, why are you why do you back Israel so heavily?

Well, you know Deuteronomy 30,

there it is.

I back God's word. I believe in God's word. I believe in God's promises. I believe everything that he says is a yes and amen. And this is I love. I love John, I love James, I love First Peter, I love the Revelation.

I love Hebrews and Romans and y' all know that.

Well I also love Deuteronomy because it's all the word of my Lord. And you know what he says he's going to bring them back from the ends of the earth and he has.

You know why?

Cause he's God.

As you go today, I pray that the Lord will bless you and keep you that he'll make his face to shine upon you and that he will give you hope and peace today in Jesus name.
