This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life.

Hi, this is Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years.

I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day,

especially today in Jesus name.

Says, then the third angel sounded and. And a great star fell from heaven.

I thought you said we already had asteroids. Well, this is a comet. You know, you got comets and asteroids. Asteroids are ones you can't see. Comets are the ones you see coming.

Do y' all know what I'm talking about?

See, that's what makes me. When you go, well, why would you even interpret it that way, Pastor Chad? Well, I've got two things falling at the same time. One of them is a star and one of them is a mountain.

Doesn't seem like that go well for both of them to fall at the same time, right?

I mean,

don't we send up. Can't we send up spaceships and blow them up and set them on a different course?

I saw a movie that said we could, didn't we? Huh?

It says in a third.

And a great star fell from heaven,

burning like a torch,

and it fell on a third of the rivers.

Now you talking about some precise falling,

so it makes you think, this is not a comet.

It falls on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water.

The name of the star is wormwood.

And a third of the water becomes wormwood.

And many men die in the water because it was made bitter.

All right,

now let me give you some insights into this, because I'm going to tell you just like the last one. I'm not sure what this is,

okay? But we've got some things we can learn from it. Wormwood is the word for idolatry.

If you were reading this in Russian today,

it would be translated, does anybody know Chernobyl?

It'd be translated Chernobyl.

Okay.

Russian translation of wormwood is Chernobyl.

The star falls from heaven and it lands and destroys what?

The fresh water of the earth.

I'm going to tell you that I'm not sure that this is something from space,

because wormwood is the word for idolatry.

And you can say, and in fact, as we read it, it says a star or a great star fell from the heavens to the earth.

Now if I were going to look for that event to have happened somewhere else in scripture,

where would I find that?

Well,

Satan is described as a star that falls to the earth when he rebelled against God that he was cast down to the earth.

Okay,

so stars might be an angel or a great angel.

Okay, now let's just think through it because I'm just teaching you kind of how I think through a passage.

Okay, I know that wormwood is Chernobyl. That makes me think radiation.

Okay, but now I can't for sure that. But anytime God gives me something that later on I'm gonna know what it means, that always intrigues me. It also gives me pause because I could be going off wrong.

Because I like that.

Okay, I like that it might be radiation.

All right?

But I love that this is a similar picture of Satan falling to the earth. By the way, stars in the Bible are one of three things. Did y' all know that stars in the Bible are either angels,

they are faith filled believers,

or they are.

Well, Jesus is the bright and morning star.

Okay?

And I want you to notice Jesus is the what kind of star?

Morning star.

And morning is a picture of the resurrection.

Jesus is the bright and morning star, meaning he's the greatest of those who have been resurrected.

All right,

now you go. Well, why does this matter? Well,

because I can't remember where it's at in the Bible, but it says when God made the heavens, the morning stars sank.

Okay,

now in order to translate that that way it can't be Jesus because he's not. What?

He's not plural.

He's not stars.

Okay, he's not plural. All right, so that would mean it is either the angels or it's believers.

But it calls them the what?

The morning stars are angels resurrected.

No, they're not.

Okay, Angels are not resurrected.

So that would have to be when God created the earth.

The resurrected believers sang.

Now is that possible?

Yeah, because if you're born again,

then you have no beginning nor end.

So you're there when it starts and you're there when it's over.

Now I want you to think about that for a little while.

Okay?

All right,

this is an angel or a great angel or a great star that falls to the earth and it's associated with idolatry.

So are there some angelic like beings that fall to the earth and would cause idolatry to take place?

I would say, yes.

I would say there's several world religions that are based off of the worship of spirits or the angels,

their idolatry?

I would say Buddhism and Hinduism, especially Mormonism,

and the angel Moroni,

Islam,

where he receives revelation from an angel.

The source of most idolatry or most world spiritualism that doesn't deal with the Holy Spirit are fallen angels.

And that's why God strictly forbids the worship of angels.

Just letting you know God doesn't like worshiping angels.

Why?

Because it causes a lot of problems.

Now, let's say that those angels were to lose their power,

and some of the people who had those angels went to war with each other because they lost their power and their strength.

They were cast down.

Might they,

in modern times,

you know, swap some nuclear weapons with each other?

Might that radiation make the water such that you can't drink it because it's bitter?

Could be.

Could just be that this is a really cool comet that when it falls, it hits all 10 of the major rivers and every spring that's around here, by the way, you don't want to be in this area when that hits,

okay? Because there's springs, cotton picking everywhere,

okay? There's five on our land. And I promise you, they're everywhere else, too. In fact, if you run across a creek,

the strong likelihood is the creek you run across if you'll follow it all the way to its beginning. It starts at a spring around here,

okay? So if it's a. If it's a comet that breaks up into a bunch of pieces as it enters the Earth's atmosphere, you don't want to be here in Tallapoosa county when it hits, okay?

Probably a desert would be a great place to be.

All right? No matter what,

this causes the fresh water to become bitter.

Now, let's take you back because we need to think about notice. Am I telling you what this. What the translation of this is?

Why? Because I told you at the start,

I don't know.

All right,

what does fresh water represent?

Well, it represents washing by the Holy Spirit.

In fact, the Bible says that there's going to be a river that flows from the throne of God. We're going to get to this at the end of the book of the Revelation.

And where it flows into what is a freshwater ocean,

the fish all gather there. Where the fresh water flows. Fish are what us fish and trees are humans.

Okay?

And so that's a picture of fresh water, is a picture of the nourishing work of the Holy Spirit. The sustaining work of the Holy Spirit.

So the work of the Holy Spirit that deals with cleansing and deals with sustaining is what,

gone?

It's gone, too.

Notice the Holy Spirit.

You can see these things in it if you. If you look for it now, Pastor. So what are we going to think it is? I have no idea.

Got no idea.

If you said the Koreans and the Japanese traded nuclear weapons and it destroyed a whole bunch of the earth, I'd go,

could be right there.

What about the Indians and the Chinese?

Could be right there. There you are. That could be it.

I got a joke, but I'm not going to say it. Okay. I can't see. I say it here. All right.

All right. So. So.

So we don't know.

But we do know whatever this does, it destroys.

Well, the refreshing work of the Holy Spirit,

it's no longer there.

And the angelic power and authority that is over the earth is brought down.

There's a judgment of it.

Okay.

Are the angels in charge of the earth? Yeah. The devil is called the prince of the power of the air.

Okay.

And he has. His angels are in an army. They're an occupying force on the earth. And the Bible will speak to some of those.

Okay.

In fact, Daniel. Daniel wrestled against the angel of Persia or the prince of Persia.

So there are angels that are in charge of that. Now, how does that affect you?

It's a great question. Jesus came to them, said, all authority in heaven, on earth has been given to me.

So wherever you are,

you're a part of the kingdom of God, and you have greater power and authority than they do.

But that doesn't mean that you have power over them. That just means you have power.

You have authority over all the things that God gives you.

A lot of times people want to just pray against the angels that control the whole earth, and let's just get them out of here.

Well, there's going to have to be one. Get rid of them, and it ain't going to be us.

Okay?

All right.

That being said, everything that God gives us, every place that we place our foot, that God gives us,

they can't have.

They can't have your family, they can't have your anointing, they can't have your purpose, they can't have your power.

And if you take it, it's yours.

So quit worrying about wrestling with them so much and worry about being who you ought to be so much.

Right.

All right.

Now,

I do want you to recognize their work and what they're doing, because you can see it going on around you and you can recognize it. And in many ways it's encouraging to know what's going on as you go today.

I pray that the Lord will bless.

You and keep you, that he'll make his face to shine upon you, and that he will give you hope and peace today. In Jesus name.
