This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life.

Hi, this is Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years.

I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life.

I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up.

His word to you and allow you.

To see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today in Jesus name.

Tartars. Tartarus. That's exactly right.

All right.

That's what it's called in the Greek.

All right, now hear me.

Hear me.

Who had the keys to hell and the pit? Jesus did. So who gave him the key to go down there and open it?

Jesus. Now you go. Well, Jesus gave Satan certain things. Yes. The whole story of Job is God dealing with Satan and talking about the faithfulness or the ability for Job to be faithful without any of God's blessing.

Okay?

And Job is proof that man can glorify God without God's blessing.

It's possible.

And the way he can do that is because he knows he needs redemption.

Now, those are some deep theological ideas, okay? What I just said in those sentences, I just said they're deep theological understandings, okay? Man can glorify God based solely on the redemption of God and nothing else from God.

Okay?

And that's what the book of Job is about.

All right?

Understanding that's important.

Lucifer went to heaven and God brought up Job.

Why? Cause he explaining to Lucifer that you could be like this too.

You could be redeemed,

you could be set, right?

But you refuse.

Your heart is bent on. On worshiping yourself.

But take my man Job.

He's faithful in my whole house.

And Lucifer says, yeah. Cause you blessed him.

And he slowly begins to allow Satan to take away his blessings and leave him with just redemption.

And Job at the end says, I know my redeemer lives.

Which means I can glorify God based solely off his redemption. It doesn't matter whether he gives it to me or not, gives me gifts or not.

Makes sense, doesn't it?

All right,

so understanding that Satan is given this authority to go open this pit.

Now,

it's called several things in the Bible. It's called the abyss.

It's called the pit. It's called tariff.

Tartarus is called Tartarus. And Hades, it's called all those things. Now, listen to me.

There is a physical way to have an actual physical bottomless pit.

Did y' all know that?

It's real easy if you bore a hole through the Earth and it goes all the way through the Earth,

and. And then you close it up on both ends and take all the air out, which would be a vacuum in a tube through the middle of the Earth. Are you following me?

And you drop somebody from the crust into the pit. And there was no drag.

No drag on them falling, nothing causing them to slow down in their fall.

They would accelerate all the way to the core,

and they would decelerate as gravity increased all the way to the other side.

And when they got almost to the other side,

they'd fall right back on through.

Okay?

Now,

there is a such thing as a bottomless pit. Now, Pastor, are you saying these angels are falling back and forth and back and forth and back and forth? No, they're not.

You know how I know they're not?

Because they're chained there.

Okay?

So it's a bottomless pit that theoretically you could fall back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, but they not falling back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.

They're chained there. And that's why you got to have a key,

okay? They're locked there. There's a key that unlocks them. Now, we think that that's some kind of.

Do y' all have any of y' all remember those old keys that's got the. You know, the. What do they call them? That's got the little skeleton keys? Y' all remember that?

Y' all think it's a skeleton key. This is some key. That's a spiritual key,

okay? And it has spiritual authority with it. Jesus says, I hold. I possess the key.

Hell and heaven to all things,

okay? And so when he has that key to those things,

he has the authority and power to release or to not release.

Makes sense, right?

All right?

Satan goes down and he opens this pit up. Now we got some weird stuff that happens after that. And he opened the bottomless pit.

All right?

And smoke rose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace,

which could be a spiritual thing.

You know, some people say it's a nuclear war or something like that.

Or for those of us who know that the core of the Earth is molten lava, right?

If you open up a hole in the Earth and the lava in the bottom comes out. Have y' all ever seen that happen?

Yeah, it's called a Volcano.

Okay.

And there's a lot of black smoke and soot that comes out.

So I'm thinking that that's probably what it is. But like I said, this is a vision, so I don't really know.

Those are the tooth best explanations, okay.

One of them is kind of a far fetched. Because we now have nuclear weapons. And because we're humans and we have nuclear weapons, we want to add them in, just like Dean wants to have helicopters.

Okay?

It's just the same thing, okay? If we've got them, we want to put them in the story, right?

All right.

It says here now, up until, you know, 50, 60 years ago, we didn't have them. Well, actually,

80, 90 actually,

80 years ago we didn't have them, but now we do. So we want them to be nuclear weapons. Probably not.

Although we did talk about the possibility of radiation being one of the plagues last time. Right.

Because it poisons the water.

It says then out of the smoke,

locust came upon the Earth.

Now that seems kind of harmless,

but this ain't your average locust,

okay? Now locusts are terrible and locusts are bad. And by the way,

not in this part of the world, but if you live,

the part of the world where this was written there is meteorological.

They're watching, they're looking, they're following.

They're actually trying to slow up and kill giant locust swarms all through the Middle east and that part of the world, did y' all know that they show up on our weather radar.

They're that big.

And if they show up somewhere,

a swarm of locusts, they start eating and they eat all the green vegetation and then they eat all the bark and then they eat all the roots.

And if you stand there long enough,

they try to start eating you.

Okay.

They're horrible.

It is truly a great biblical plague. And by the way, they have those plagues even today in the Middle east, in North Africa,

in the Mediterranean,

in the Arabian peninsula,

in and around the steppes, the Asian steppes going toward Iran, Persia, that part of the world,

locust are real bad.

But these are worse.

It says these locusts were given as the scorpion of the Earth to have power. Let me read it. Then out of the smoke, locusts came upon the earth and to them was given power,

as the scorpions of the Earth have power.

Now. What is the power that scorpions have?

Yeah. To sting you.

Okay.

And y' all do know what that what most stings?

Snake bites?

Spider bites. Y' all do know what that is?

It's an intense venom or acid, usually, and it usually just eats away whatever is exposed to it. So if you get bit by brown recluse, if you get bit by black widow, those are the two main spiders of this area.

Area,

by the way, if you go up under your houses or any of that, for all of you who are not from around here, okay, if you go up under your house or anything like that, you need to watch for those things because they will bite you,

okay? And within 30 minutes, you'll begin to feel it. And what's really happening is their.

Their bite,

their poison is literally melting your skin,

okay? It's just melting your skin away. And it needs to be treated quickly,

okay? Needs to be treated very quickly because it can cause. Although rarely do they kill,

it can cause you to be very, very sick and cause scarring.

Okay?

All right.

That's just a public service announcement for everyone,

all right?

But for everyone who's not around here, from around here,

another way. If it's got a diamond head, it's a bad snake. If it doesn't have a diamond head,

it's still a bad snake, Just not as bad, okay?

All right?

Because the only good snake is a dead snake.

All right?

He says. And I am a snake hunter.

All right?

He says. He says, as the scorpions have power on the Earth,

they were commanded. Notice there's an ability to control it.

They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth,

by the way, that's already been harmed.

Or any green thing or any tree,

but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their forehead,

which means those who don't have the mantle of the Holy Spirit.

So these locusts are a judgment against the unredeemed.

I would be remiss not to explain that to you because you need to understand,

all right?

When you're born again,

you are given what is called the mantle of the Holy Spirit.

In antiquity,

when they drew that, they would try to draw.

When they paint it, they try to paint these auras around people,

like bright lights around them. But the problem is, is if you were painting a spiritual painting and most of the beings in the spiritual painting were from God,

it just kind of looked like everything behind them was just white.

Okay?

So they came up with something that would kind of let you know that these are the good creatures and those are the bad creatures. Do y' all know what it is?

Halos. They put a little red,

little gold ring around your head.

Okay?

That is a picture of the mantle of the Holy Spirit.

Now, here is the truth.

If you're born again,

whether you know it or not,

whether you act like it or not, or whether you want anybody else to know it or not,

in the spiritual,

you have the mantle of the Holy Spirit.

You have an aura.

It is clearly visible in the spiritual that you are stamped with God.

You have been bought at a price and there is evidence of you in the spiritual. Now, you don't see it,

but I've already told you which comes first,

the physical or the spiritual?

The spiritual.

So just because you can't see it, just because you don't know it, don't mean it ain't true.

Are you following me?

How many of y' all can see your atoms?

Not your Adam's apple, okay? Your actual atoms that make up your body.

Just cause you can't see them don't mean they don't exist.

The same is true in the physical. In the spiritual world,

you have the mark of the Holy Spirit. You have the mantle of the Holy Spirit. You have the aura of the Holy Spirit. You have the presence of the Holy Spirit.

It is upon you.

That's why Jesus says no one takes a lamp and covers it up on top of a hill,

right?

Why?

Because you can't cover it up.

It's foolishness. If I take a light on top of a hill and try to cover it up at nighttime, if it's clear night, can you still see it?

It's ridiculous to try to hide it,

okay?

When you're born again, you have that.

People who don't realize they're born again, but are born again are in the process of being saved or being brought to an understanding of redempt.

That they can be converted so that they can repent and turn toward God. They can't understand why it ain't working out for them like it is for all their other lost friends.

I had a buddy in high school that was that way.

He was always getting in trouble. Everybody else was getting away with it, okay? He was the one.

He was the leader of the renegades. But anyway, he was the one who was always. It never worked for him.

Just never really worked out for him, okay? Then he got born again and he realized, oh, that's why.

All right.

That's why when you are born again,

you have a. The spiritual world sees it.

That's why I teach people not to do things that, you know, spiritually have significance or don't have significance and do the things that you're supposed to do spiritually that have significance.

Don't play around with it don't say I can't see it. So, no, it must not be true.

It's very childish, right? If you cover up a child's eyes, they think nobody can see them. Cause they can't see it.

That is very true of young spiritual believers.

They cover their eyes up and say, well, I'm not looking for the spiritual, so the spiritual ain't there anymore.

That's just not true.

The angels know who are born again.

The demons know who are born again.

The fallen angels know who are born again.

I thought you said the demons knew. They're not the same.

They ain't the same,

okay? They're not the same creatures.

Understanding that, knowing that is important.

Pastor, what is it? Well, I can't explain it this way. I ain't got time.

All right, But.

And by the way, we're gonna get into it because we're dealing with fallen angels who are releasing something from this pit.

And there's a strong likelihood that it's demonic,

okay?

Because we know that angels are chained in the pit.

Jude Verse 6 tells us that it's found in Ezekiel, it's found in Isaiah, it's found in Genesis.

We know angels are chained in the pit. And we know from demons that they can be put in the pit. How do we know?

As you go. Today I pray that the Lord will.

Bless you and keep you. That he'll make his face to shine upon you, and that he will give you hope and peace today in Jesus name.
