This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life.
Hi, this is Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years.
I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life.
I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day,
especially today,
in Jesus name.
And then once you've heard from God,
your intellect has been stimulated, your mind has been stimulated, and your emotions are in line with God, and your intellect is in line with God.
And after you've heard God's word, you have an opportunity to go into the throne, go into the holy of holies and get all the power.
Get all what you need in there.
Okay?
How many y'. All. How many of y' all truly knew that's what we were doing every Sunday morning? Truly. Raise your hand high.
How many of y'. All.
Not at all. Be honest. Raise your hand high. Didn't know that. Didn't you didn't get that. You didn't know that's what you were doing.
I want you to think about that.
You know, a bunch of liars. It was a. It was a binary choice, okay? There was one or the other, and none of you see a bunch of cowards.
I know you. Several times Pastor gives me a binary choice. I ain't choosing only one of them, Pastor. It's the end of that. We're not doing that.
If you give me a choice, I choose not to respond.
Don't be bringing legal terms. Fifth Amendment ain't got nothing to do with it. Okay?
All right,
you are. But when you think about that, if you think about that's what we're doing,
then you start doing it,
and it helps people around you do it make sense.
So that's what's happening. And so when I think immediately, when I think he opened the temple of Heaven, what I see is, okay, well,
he's going to bring about his kingdom. So I got access right to him.
And he's showing. He does. It says,
then the temple of God was open in heaven, and the ark of his new covenant of his covenant was seen in his temple, meaning that's the covenant with Jesus Christ.
And there was lightning,
noises, thunderings on the earth and earthquakes and a great hail.
All those are pictures of God's judgment.
Why?
Because this is not for the. This is not for the redeemed.
It's not for the redeemed.
It's. It's. It's what's about to happen to the Earth for the kingdom to be brought about.
So there's great judgment.
Now you go. Well, Pat, what time is it? Don't tell me. 8:30.
What time is it?
703. Oh, I'm. I'm good.
I'm golden.
All right, some of y' all going, you golden. Getting out of here now. All right,
the.
Read it again.
And there was lightning, noises, thunderings, an earthquake and a great hail.
All right,
if I'm going to take you back to a event in biblical history,
what does that remind you of,
huh?
Well, it does remind you of the crucifixion. That's very good. I like that. Okay. I like that. That's good. All right, there's another event.
The Exodus. And what is it? What's it describing?
Huh?
No, no, not the plagues.
Huh?
No, not going through the Red Sea.
The mountain.
The mountain of God,
right?
Earthquakes, lightning,
thunder flashes. Okay?
Not hail.
But hail does bring you. Take you back to the. You know, the plagues in Egypt and things like that. It does take you back. It's. It. Now, listen to me.
This is important.
In the midst of that,
on top of that mountain,
while God's presence was up there,
he invited his people to go up to it,
okay?
And they wouldn't go because they were unwilling to go because they were afraid of his judgment.
But his judgment, he'd already redeemed them.
They'd already passed through the blood and then passed through the sea.
Okay? The blood on the. The blood on the doorpost was a picture of the.
The finished work, the shedding of blood of the spotless lamb.
Okay? And they passed through the Red Sea, which means they'd already been cleansed by the Holy Spirit.
Are you following me?
But when they got to the mountain, they wouldn't go up to meet with God because they were afraid of his judgment.
Now, I want you to hear me.
They did not meet with God because they were not functioning in their redemption.
Does God have any judgment for the redeemed?
No.
He placed the sin of the redeemed on Jesus.
His.
His.
His wrath is not for the redeemed at all.
At all.
Okay,
now hear me on this.
You, as a believer,
if you are going to experience God in his fullness or whatever, that means for you. Because some of us can't do it as much as others. And I don't do it as much as I'd like you following me.
I'd like to be better at this.
I. I would. Seriously, I'm not joking. I would love to be better at this.
You got to be willing to go on that mountain in full faith that you are not under his judgment so that you can experience his power.
Amen to that. Yeah.
Otherwise, you're at the foot of the mount.
Now, you're one of his people,
you've been washed in the blood,
all that stuff, but you're not experiencing his power because you're not going up on the mountain.
And all you're left with is God sending his instructions down to you on a stone.
If they gone up on the mountain, they wouldn't need the stone,
wouldn't need it.
They would know God.
Moses didn't bring the stones down for himself.
They had to cover him up.
The Shekinah glory of God was on him. They had to put a veil over him because they couldn't look at him.
He'd already experienced the glory of God on that mountain in the midst of the thunder and the lightning, the. And the hail and the. All that stuff up there,
because that was not the judgment, was not for him. The holiness was for him.
The might was for him. The power was for him, but not the judgment. But the thing that keeps you from going into his presence is you fear the judgment,
which is not yours. And if you can't figure out how to do that,
I'm just saying this.
I would love for every person I ever pastor to get full of the Holy Spirit and get full of all the knowledge and the power of God.
I'd like it for me.
You with me?
I would like it for you,
but I'm going to be real with you.
If you're not willing to go up on the mountain,
you can't have it.
Now, we're not talking about going to hell. We're talking about having it all,
getting the full portion.
Until you're willing to go up and say, okay, I'm. Forget about all the.
Yeah,
I'm going up on the mountain.
She said the feces.
Okay,
you got to put all that aside and say, I'm going on the mountain.
I'm going up there, going on the mountain.
If you don't, I. I just.
I'm being real with you. There's revelation you can't have.
There's, there's. There's gifts you can't have.
Just can't have them.
You just can't.
There's certain things you got to go get.
Sorry.
The hidden things you got to seek after.
And you can live a good Christian life and you can,
you know,
have a good funeral and go to heaven and all that stuff. You can.
And not experience it.
You can,
but that's not what Christ wants for you.
That's why James, the brother of Jesus, who,
you know,
majorly messed it all up, says, walk boldly before the throne of grace.
Huh? Right.
That's why Paul, who killed a bunch of Christians,
you know, was the head of the. He was the chief prosecutor of Israel. He was, he was big time lawyer.
Right.
That's why he says, make every effort to enter his rest.
What he's saying is,
all right, we got in here,
you're here. You didn't do anything to get you here,
but you're here now. He's saying,
James says,
walk boldly before the throne.
Go to the throne, run to the throne.
Paul says,
make every effort.
If you're going to try to do anything,
make every effort to enter his rest.
Until you do that.
You know, I, I, I, I. It's not a negative message, really.
You're just missing out.
Just missing out,
you know?
Yeah.
I mean,
you know, nobody wants to.
Go to war.
Really. Nobody. If somebody wants to go to war, you know, we need to send them, like with the covert group.
Right.
But if you're going to go to war,
don't you want to first not die?
Okay,
all right, so you're not going to die in this one.
All right, you got that?
When you go, don't you want to be, like, in the important places that they talk about in, historically,
Right.
You know, if I'm going to be in the Civil War, I want to be at Gettysburg, right?
No, you're not going to die. You're not dying. We already handled. You're not dying. Wouldn't you like to be at Gettysburg?
Yeah, I mean, if you're going to be in, if you're going to be in Europe during the invasion, don't you want to be at Bastogne?
Don't you want to get off the ship at D Day?
Not saving Private Ryan, getting shot? You make it.
Don't you want to do that?
And if you want to, if you do that,
wouldn't you like to be somebody that was, like, quoted,
right?
Like, you know,
something was, you know, you're like in the history books, and if you do that, wouldn't you like to be the One who, like, took the major,
you know, took the.
Whatever that won the battle.
And if you're part of that group, wouldn't you like to be the one who led them?
I mean, if you're going to do that, right.
I'm being serious.
Wouldn't you.
If you're not going to die.
Okay. Wouldn't you like to win the Congressional Medal of Honor? Not posthumously. That means after you're dead.
How many. I mean,
I showed up to the. To the Italian restaurant over there, near. To the Wendy's near the airport. Y' all know the one I'm talking about in Auburn one night about three or four years ago, our family went to eat there.
And I'm sitting there and we're. They've got that big room that you can walk in that they can have a big party in, and they're having a big party in there.
And I'm just sitting there with my family. And old dude walks by, and he's got on a blue ribbon around his neck, and that looks like a.
Something gold.
And we walks back because you don't see Congressional Medals of Honor,
you know what I'm talking about?
He's. He got one on. So I'm like slipping around over there at the door, peeking in.
As I'm peeking in, another old dude walks by. He got one on, too.
And I go, well,
did you say that?
And then when I come back to my family, another old dude walks in, and he got on one, too.
Three of them,
they were there for the game, and somehow they were associated with Auburn and they were going to be recognized at the game next day.
Three Congressional Medal of Honor runners right there in the same room, and they were. None of them are dead.
All of them were alive.
I mean,
I'm telling you,
I was a soldier, but I was like, nothing like the least soldier. If you said, like,
if you kind of ranked them, you know, The American soldiers, 20 million of them, you got the Congressional Medal of Honor runners. I was like, I come in like, you know, 19,998,092.
Okay, I'm down at the bottom.
But if I'm going to go to war, I want to do that, don't I?
I'm being honest with you. I'm asking you,
well, if you're going to live the Christian life,
wouldn't you like to have the mountaintop?
I mean, wouldn't you like to walk through the Red Sea, see the plagues, do the mountaintop,
fight.
Fight the Philistines?
I mean, really,
wouldn't you you know,
throw me in the. In the. In the furnace, right?
Yeah, toss me in. I mean, wouldn't you like to be in the line then? Daniel, I'm going with you.
You know, not gonna die.
But you don't know that.
You gotta go,
right?
Don't want to be swallowed by the whale. That's out. Okay. Swallowed by the whales. Out. You don't wanna do that.
I mean, don't you wanna do that?
Don't you wanna be, like. Don't you wanna be. The prophet says, I saw the Lord high and lifted up.
Don't you want to, like, be in the throne room of heaven? I mean, you want to do that, right?
Yeah, like, Peter, get out of the boat and walk on the water.
That's it.
That's one you want to do. I want to do that.
I want to do that. I want to be there.
I know it's weird, but one of the things. And I. We just went over it. I want to be there standing right next to Jesus when everything went quiet and he stood up and yelled at to be there, going, yeah,
yeah,
Whoa,
whoa.
I mean, don't you.
I.
Well, I'm here to tell you, you can't do that in war.
The odds are that any of y' all are going to do that in a war.
But you're too old now,
right? There's some guys in this room that could have been that,
but it's over. You're not. You're not going to do that, right?
It's not going to be you.
They're not sending you to do it. You ain't doing it. You're out.
Okay,
you want to do that?
All right,
well, you can.
You can.
In Christianity,
you can go straight into the throne room,
but you got to be willing. I mean, you got to go. You got to go up in the storm.
Thunder, lightning, hurricaneators, tornadoes, all that kind of stuff.
Hail,
fire, burning bush,
not consumed,
all of it. You got to just go in.
That's the only way to do it.
Now it's 8:30.
Now it's 8:30. All right.
I was just telling you.
And to those who want it,
you get a chance to do it as you go today. I pray that the Lord will bless.
You and keep you, that he'll make his face to shine upon you, and that he will give you hope and peace today in Jesus name.
