This is Chad Harrison and you're listening to Hope. Applying God's word to your daily life. Hi, this is Chad Harrison and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up.

His word to you and allow you.

To see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today in Jesus name.

Year, especially on Wednesday nights, makes me think about. Makes. Makes me think about when we first started Wednesday night Bible study. It was at the Creekside Lodge in the little room to the side of it. And I don't think that room could have held the tables that we sat at tonight to eat in. In fact, I'm quite sure that room couldn't have held the tables we sat in to eat that night. There were some days. There were some days and then we moved to Copper's, what used to be coppers there at the clubhouse. And we were in the little side room and I think the most chairs we could get in, there were 18 chairs. Yeah, there were 18 chairs that we could get in that room. And we would average about 10 to 12. We would have 5, 6, 7 while we were at. Now, sometimes we'd have more. We had times where we had as many as 20 at Creekside Lodge. But, but the. This time of year, I'm going to tell you, this time of year we would have seven or eight, seven, eight to ten. When the, when the sun started coming out and, and everything all of a sudden magically turned green. Our Wednesday night kind of slumped it in slump tonight, did it? It hadn't slept at all tonight. And so I think about that. We've got, you know, 10 times what we had those nights in the early part of us starting the church. I mean that, that was like five, six months in to start in the church. And so oftentimes a little perspective helps, am I right? A little understanding of what's going on around you is always a good thing. And so I look at this passage and I want to emphasize to you, because nobody ever talks about this. If you ever hear anybody talking about the book of the Revelation, first of all, they'll tell you they're afraid of it. They don't want to read it. They're scared of it and that and the Bible. I mean, the book starts out and says he's going to give you a special blessing if you'll study this book. For those who read and know this book, there's a special blessing from it. Another thing that you know, and obviously the major figures of the book are talked about and people talk about it, and you'll have them alluded to in movies and things like that. And the main thing, they talk about the Antichrist and they call him the Antichrist. Am I right? And the beast that we've been discussing for the last two weeks is the person, the political figure who is a Gentile because he's from the sea. He's a beast out of the sea. The political figure that is what most people call the Antichrist is that figure. But the truth is, is that there's two beasts, and nobody. Rarely do I hear anybody even mention the second beast. Rarely do I hear anybody ever talk about this figure. But in my opinion, he is the one that's the most intriguing of the figures. And the reason he is is because he's a religious leader, okay? And so I'm gonna show you this. And he takes the place. If the political figure, who we call the antiquari Christ is taking on the role of Jesus in the unholy Trinity, then this figure is the Holy Spirit, okay? And so when you think of it in that way, then it makes a whole lot of sense to you, okay? When you think of it that way, it gives a lot of clarity. He says, then I saw another beast coming out of the earth. Now, notice it's not coming out of the sea, it's coming out of the earth or out of the land. And oftentimes is translated earth here. But I actually think it's better translated land. Because when it. When. When it's translated land, that gives you. When you translate it, land. When you look at it and say, okay, if I said land, what would this indicate? Well, it always indicates the Jewish people, okay? The Jews, all right? They're from the promised land, and the Gentiles are the raging seas around them, okay? And so it says that I saw another beast. So it's a separate person. Now, I don't want you to miss. I don't want you to miss that he's called a what, A beast, okay? And beast, or especially dogs or ravenous wolves in the New Testament speak to the demonic. And I go over that again because I want you to remember these things and think of it this way. Remember, demons are unclean spirits or I believe them to be. I believe them to be the Nephilim of Genesis, chapters four and five, okay? I believe that that's who they are, all right? And so I'm going to use a phrase that would aptly describe them perfectly, okay? A demon is a disembodied, perfectly evil human soul and spirit, okay? Be a disembodied, completely evil soul and spirit. Because if you're the product of an angel that's a spirit that's evil and has a body and a soul from a woman, and a body that's evil, and she were to give birth to a being from that, that way the angels, when the sons of God went to the daughters of men, you would have a being that would be. Have an evil body or evil flesh, would have a soul that is lost, sinful, and then you would have a spirit that would be from that being's father, which would be a fallen angel, which would be an evil spirit, okay? All right? In the Old Testament, they're called unclean spirits. They're literally called unclean spirits, okay? In the New Testament they're called demonia or demons. We literally transliterate the word demons, okay? All right? Now I'm saying that because after the flood, Joshua goes into the promised land and there is a claim that the Nephilim are still there, okay? And there's some reason to believe that that's true because when they went in and scouted out the land, they said there were giants in the land. And it says that. That the Nephilim were there and after that time also, okay? So the scripture tells us that there's Nephilim that are somehow on the earth after that. Now you go, well, how. How does that happen? Well, it can only happen the same way it happened the first time, okay? Now I do believe it's heavily limited. I do believe that all of the angels who left their first estate, which is what I'm gonna say Jude says, okay, the ones who left their first estate and meaning they left from this octave and came to this octave and had relationships with women, okay? They are chained in the bottomless pit, okay? All right? But those beings are called beasts in scripture, okay? They're referred to as beast, which we call demons. All right? Now listen to me. They don't have power, okay? A lot of people, we love to celebrate the demons at Halloween. And I know people say, well, I don't celebrate them. And I go, well, you don't think you do. All right, all right. But you know, just cause you say you ain't don't mean you ain't anyway. And you need to realize that I'm just saying that to you because that day is designed to celebrate the spiritual world that is dark, okay? And so understanding that there are demonic spirits in the world today, knowing that to be the case, because Jesus encountered many of them, dealt with many of them, you can learn who they are. Understanding that they want to be with human beings because they used to be human beings, or they still are, but they're disembodied, all right? Understanding that makes a huge difference. It makes a huge. It allows you to understand. If I let that in my life, it causes me problems, okay? If I allow that to have access to my life. Now you go, well, what about those people who are demon possessed? Well, they can't have the Holy Spirit and. And. And a. A spirit from God inside of them, A new human spirit and a demon, okay? Possessed, but they can be demon oppressed, okay? And those. Those things are not only all around you and at work, all around you in the world, but they also pass down, okay? Sure they are. They are an aspect of the sins of the father being passed to the second and third generation. Have y' all ever heard of generational curses? Genera? And I don't want you to think of a curse as a magic spell. I want you to think of a curse as a binding, okay? Because that's what curse really means. It means to be bound, all right? And so if I have a generational spirit that was passed from my father to me, then it binds me or controls me, and that can be in all kinds of ways. And you know that. That takes place. I mean, you. We know that. That people act out in good and bad ways from their parents. Am I right? And some people are able to overcome the bad of their parents and take the good that they were given. Okay? How do they do that? Well, they overcome the generational issues that were passed down to them. All right? How do you do that? Well, you can only do it by the blood of the lamb, right? You can only do it by the redemptive work of God. And you've got to identify those things and work those things out, okay? And so many people don't want to do that, okay? Well, my family's great, know. Your family ain't great. Quit. Shut up lying to yourself, okay? Your family ain't great, okay? And you know what? And it hurts my feelings now that I have adult children, because I realized that they have to do that with me, right? They got. I mean, they do And I don't want to. I don't want to dissuade them from doing that, because I'm quite sure that, you know, if you went up to them and told them, you know, you know, your family's got some problems, they go, my family's fine. But deep inside they're going, no, I'm trying to get this thing fixed. Right? And we all do that. All right? So when we're dealing with this beast, my dad believed, and I. I rarely just go to go straight to what he, what he says, but my dad believed that both of these beasts are nephilim, okay? And he also believed that he. Now, I won't say that he believed this. I'll say that he considered it a possibility that Judas was a nephilim. Okay? All right. And he believed that nephilim were in the world today. And sometimes I think that they are, and sometimes I'm not sure, but I do know that they're called the same terminology, okay? So the beast out of the sea is a beast. The beast out of the land is a beast, okay? Which is an allusion to not fallen angels, but disembodied, completely evil human beings. Does that make sense? All right. Who may be actually physically alive and have been conceived that way also. And by the way, if y'. All, I don't even know why I've gotten onto this, but if you don't think that I want you to hear me today. Everywhere else in the world, other than the United States and a few Western culture countries, everywhere else in the world, even the places where Christianity is not prevalent or dominant, you do know they all believe in evil spirits. You know that, right? And Christians outside the United States deal with a much more aggressive, much more out front, much more obvious demonic presence. If you ever have a conversation with a missionary to some other parts of the world, they will tell you about that. They're not going to tell you a lot about it because they're worried about getting enough funding to go do their journey, go on the missionary. But if you actually sit down with missionaries, they will tell you that not only do they believe in the demonic, not only do they deal with the demonic, but it's more, much more out there and out there in their face, okay? Do you know why? Because the people believe it and the people believe it makes. Makes it where they have to be out front. They got us snookered because we don't believe in it. So if you don't believe in them, well, that's great. Just shut your eyes and Let us do what we want to, okay? And that's what happens. That's what's going on now. I'm telling you that not. Because I'm just giving you some kind of theological understanding. Are you following me? I'm telling you that from my personal experience, I know demons exist and I have interacted with them, okay? So there is. I believe in them. I'm not going to tell the story. The two stories of the two times I for sure dealt with one, okay? But they do exist and they are in the world. Are you following me? Okay. All right. Now I want you to hear me. What other people will say to you is, that's just superstition, but there's a problem with that. I want you to hear me and follow the argument out because it's important that you get it. People who want to be agnostic or do not believe in God at all, they will tell you that religion is a superstition that comes from our ancient past. I. I want you to hear me because this is important. Almost all of our. The things we gain from our historical past, our ancient historical past are rooted in some reality. Are you following me? What I mean by that? Well, if you go and study all the religions of the world, if you go study all the cultures of the world in their history, in their ancient history, there'll be a couple of things. First of all, there's an account of God making the heavens and the earth. Are you following me? And second of all, there's an account of a flood. Did you know that? All of them. All of them. Now you go, well, what does that matter? They all were. Look, listen to me. There used to be a beast on the earth called a ganglion, okay? And the ganglion would eat the earth in the morning and spit it out at night. How many of y' all heard about that? Does anybody heard about that? You know why? Because it didn't exist. Are you following me? Look, somebody say to you, it's in your. It's in their ancient DNA to believe a myth. I want you to hear me. I want you to hear me. That's fine for that culture or this culture over here or this culture over there, but when all of them, all of them have a common understanding of how things came about, I want you to hear me. That doesn't come from mythology. That comes from a common event that each culture tries to deal with in their history. Are you following me? Now, that doesn't mean that their understanding of it's right or wrong, okay? But if every Culture says that there was a flood where they were at that affected their ancestry. Then I want you to hear me. There was a flood. Now, we can argue about how that works out, but there is one I want you to hear me. The idea of God, the very idea of his existence. Is quality philosophical evidence of his existence. You hear me? Okay, you go. What does that mean? Well, if it's possible. This is good, good philosophy. I'm talking about rock solid. If it's possible that there's a being that's all knowing, all powerful, omnipresent and all good, which, which would be a perfect being, if it's possible for that being to exist in your understanding of things, I want you to hear me, then that being must exist. Because you wouldn't know that being existed unless that being let you know he existed. The things of our past we have to deal with, and the things of the earth's past and how God created things he has to deal with. And it would be appropriate for the driving force of the problems of the past, which would be the fall of the angelic host, the rebellion of Lucifer, the creation of man, the. The. The pollution of man by Lucifer, the. The. The effort to destroy the bloodlines of human beings during the days of Noah, and the constant effort to destroy the plan of God. You need to hear this. The constant effort to destroy the plan of God through is evidence of what God has been doing and causes God to. When he brings all things back to the way they should be. Are you following me? He has to deal with those things also so they have to come out in this story. He can't just start, you know, at 2250 A.D. and just say, okay, I'm gonna set things right. He has to set things right all the way back to the beginning. That's why we go all the way back to Genesis. That's why we always study it and talk about it. All right, so this beast is a true beast. Okay? It is something beyond just a regular human being. So is the first beast. As you go today, I pray that the Lord will bless you and keep you, that he'll make his face to.

Shine upon you, and that he will give you hope and peace today in Jesus name.
