Hope Alive: Applying God’s Word to Your Daily Life
The Revelation 14:6
I am Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and had been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. The purpose of studying scripture is that you might know the character of Jesus Christ, and that you might see the world from the Father's perspective. That you gain wisdom that changes your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open His word to you and allow you to see Him and to know Him. To know His will, that you might glorify Him and that you might walk in faith and power each day, especially today. In Jesus name.

This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life. Hi, this is Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today, in Jesus name.
Now, I'm going to read verse six.
To you just because it kind of begins to relate because we're going to go through a series of passages where he's telling you things that are happening during this interlude. Okay.
But this kind of explains why they're.
In heaven and things have changed. Okay.
It says, then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven.
So he's looking up and the angels flying in the midst of heaven.
How many wings does the angel have?
Six. Okay, very good.
All right. Having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue and language. All right, now I want you to hear me. The gospel is being preached by an angel now, and we know that the preachers are all gone. So there's another dispensation happening here. So there's never a time where God's.
Not revealing himself, but there are times.
When it happens differently. And apparently while these last judgments are taking place, the only way you can hear is hear it from the revelation.
Of God's angels from the heavens. Holy Spirit's not functioning the same way. No preachers function in the same way.
So the only way you're going to be able to hear. Hear it is hear it from God.
Himself through the angels.
Because remember, the angels just come and say exactly what God says.
Which is.
A whole different way.
It's also troubling because these. These judgments are going to be bad.
That there's no preachers there. God has removed every human.
That would be his servant in the. In the spreading of his gospel.
I want you to hear me. He has literally removed the one thing.
He made to glorify himself in his creation as the purveyor of his gospel. And all's left is the angels relating it in the heavens.
They give us a satellite or.
No, I think they're actually.
Yeah. And you go, well, People are not going to believe that. Well, let me tell you, we've already been through the not believing part, okay? We're moving into the oh, Lord, what's about to happen part, okay?
I mean, when they're already hiding under.
Rocks and can't die, I mean, we've gotten past the I can't believe this is going on. You know what I mean?
What can happen next has already happened, okay? Notice they say with a loud voice, fear God and give him glory for the hour of his judgment. I'm telling you, this is not as.
Good a news, okay?
For the hour of his judgment has come and the worship and worship him who made heaven and earth and sea and spring and water. I want you to notice they're not being called to worship God based off of the work of Jesus Christ. That's that. Because he's no longer complete judgment. Complete judgment. The message of the angels is not the gospel. The message of the angels is repent or be destroyed, or repent and still be destroyed.
It said it was an eternal gospel.
Yeah, it's the eternal gospel that's always been.
And that gospel is in his creation from the beginning.
That he is. He's eternal, that he's immortal, that he is. He is holy and that he deserves to be worshiped whether he's made you right or not. All right?
He is a good God, no matter what you find your situation in. All right? There's a revelation from God that He exists. And once you know that he exists or once you have had him revealed to you exists, you owe him worship.
Whether he redeems you or does anything for you.
Now that's a hard thing for church.
The New Testament church people to get.
Are you following me?
I.
The. One of the big questions you get.
You know, as a pastor.
When I get to heaven and my family's not there, and there's people who really have.
To deal with that, right?
I get to heaven.
My fam. I know. My fan. I know there's a family member that's not there. You know, okay.
How am I going to be able.
To be joyful and happy in heaven knowing my family members not there?
Well, the reason you're going to be.
Able to do that is you're going to see things from God's perspective, okay?
And I want you to hear me.
It's hard, it's difficult, but it's true.
Whether God has redeemed you or not.
He deserves to be worshiped by you, whether you do or don't.
You didn't do you, you could not, nor would you have done anything to redeem yourself had he not completely done the work of redemption. And that was by his nature and by his goodwill and by his love and by his work. That gets back to that whole step back and get in the middle of what. What is the truth and the foundational truth. I want you to hear me. The foundational truth of Scripture, from which all scripture springs, is that God is God. He is sovereign. He is holy. He is the author of all things. Period. Now, what comes after that is from his grace and mercy and goodness. But he is God. And that helps me all the time. When I go, when I start. You know, you get in these, these.
These, these emotional and.
And philosophical quandaries. It's not. I, I'm.
There's some simplicity to it, which is important.
Okay? The simplicity is this. When I get in one of those quandaries, I pull back to the high spot. The high spot is he's God.
Okay?
Quit trying to bring your logic or your emotions or your way of thinking to the table. He's God.
He gets to explain how this works because he's the one that made it work. You didn't.
Now, from there, once I'm there, then everything else can be great. Until I get there, I question everything. How can a loving God. I want you to hear me. That's not where we start.
That is not where it starts, that He's a loving God. He's a holy, righteous, perfect, good God.
Period.
That's where it starts.
Now, once we move past that he.
Is a loving God.
But you can't separate the loving God.
From the holy God or the righteous God.
And when you get to heaven, you.
Will have a perfect sense of that truth. It will be a clarity to you that you can't imagine being clear about today. There'll be clarity to it that you can't imagine. But until you get to that, you.
Start asking all kinds of questions, you compromise things, you try to manipulate it.
To work to way you want it to work or the way you feel about it. Makes sense.
Yeah.
And it ain't your way. And it never was your way. You can't have it your way. It ain't Burger King. It ain't. Okay. It's. It's his way. And so if God being perfect and righteous and holy, has made a way for someone and they, however you theologically get there, do not walk in that way, then it is. Is it just for not them to not be in his presence? Absolutely. Sorry. Absolutely. It is. It's very helpful when you're thinking through these things, because once I'm there, I can get into the love and the grace. I can swim in those rivers. I can bathe in those streams all the time.
And they're all good and they're all wonderful.
But they flow from his very character, nature, which is righteous and holy and just. And so I can be good with it and I can have peace in it. I can have peace in it. I can't have peace the other way. There's no peace the other way. Right. There isn't any. There's only chaos. And that's super logical and it's super biblical because, you know, that's what he said.
Right?
That's what he said. So, Pastor, what are you telling me? When I get to heaven, I'm going to be good with so and so being in hell? Yes.
It's going to be on Jesus. Wasn't me praising him. I don't. I don't think we know we're going to be really centered on him.
We will be. But you're going to know all things.
Well, I think we'll know all things, but I don't. I still think we'll all be centered on.
You're right.
That's.
You're right. You're right, and I believe that completely. But you're going to know all things, and you're going to be able to explain all things, and you are going to glorify him and all things. And so you're going to be good.
With the other two.
When you get off the bus and basic training, you ain't good with what's happening to you when you get on the bus leaving basic training, you perfectly good with all of it. You following me.
When you're on the Earth dealing with.
It, you're not sure you're good with it all. When you get there, you'll be perfectly good with it all. Boy, that was warm and fuzzy as we go tonight, wasn't it? But it's good for you. It is really good for you. It helps you. It firms your feet.
I don't get pushed off that.
If any question goes in my. I'm being real with you. If I have a question, Okay, I.
Walk back and find my spot.
Okay, what's the spot?
God is the author and maker of all things. He is the Lord of all things. He's sovereign. He decides. Then I move out from there and figure out how I get from here to there through Scripture. But I gotta start here because otherwise.
I'm just wandering around.
God is sovereign in beginning God.
That's the start in every way. It means. In beginning. And I notice I took the the out because there's not a the in beginning.
God.
There's comfort in that. There's comfort in that if you're a Mormon.
It was in beginning God.
And then the devil and Jesus came up with plans. There's no comfort in that. God chose Jesus's plan. And Lucifer's been trying to mess up Jesus plan ever since. I don't like that. That's not good. That's not in beginning God.
As you go today, I pray that.
The Lord will bless you and keep you, that he'll make his face to shine upon you, and that he will give you hope and peace today in Jesus name.
