This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life. Hi, this is Chad Harrison and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up.

His word to you and allow you.

To see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today in Jesus name.

Fear God. And do what? Glorify him. What is your purpose? To glorify God. All of God's creation glorifies him. Even the people who go to hell, they glorify God, too. They glorify his holiness and his righteous judgment. They do. That's not the part of him you want to glorify. Okay? But they do. They glorify him. It's your job to glorify him. I. I say that all the time, but. But I don't say that as much as I need to. Probably I need to say that more. Your job is to glorify God. Your job is to glorify God. If you all down in the dumps, you ain't glorifying God. There's a reason why you ain't happy. You ain't doing what you were made to do. You can be tired, you can be beat down and wo out, okay? But you can't be all depressed and everything and be glorifying God. Well, I'm being hardcore tonight. I don't know why. You probably could. You prayed that on me. All right? He says, for the hour of his judgment is come. Now, this angel's telling us, okay, he's telling us, all right, we got a little transition going on, all right? He's saying things have changed now. We going to get the full judgment of God. We've got. You're sitting there going, I thought like half the earth was killed. Yeah, we fishing to get the full judgment of God. All right? It's going to be rough. He says. He says for the hour of his judgment has come. And he says to worship him who made heaven and earth and the sea and the springs of water. He's saying, worship the God who made all things and also provided you with life. All right? What's the answer to all things? Worship him. Worship him. I will tell you this. The first two Sundays that we were at church, Pastor Terry went to the altar to start the altar time. He was the only one that went the first time. Okay, all right. Worshiping God is what you were made to do. That's how you glorify him. You worship him and then you're changed by that worship. And you go and become. And walk by faith in the things he shows you. That's why we're into worship. Are you following me? I have none of the giftings in those areas, but I'm into it, all right. I learned that as a young pastor when God was calling me, before I even knew he was calling me, I knew that it was important that I worship. I remember that Promise Keepers and me being on. Right, on the. Right on the balcony, right? I mean, I was in the upper deck, right on the fence and. And the worship started and I was with all them Baptist boys. And God said, raise your hands. I said, they're up, Lord, they're up. He said, get them higher. By the end, I have my hands up like that. I don't even know if any of them raise their hand. Don't care. I realized at that moment worship was very important. Okay, says another angel followed now, don't you hear me? He says this, and we're probably. This is probably where we're going to have to kind of wind up because it's a deep well. I got to go down. Okay? He says Babylon is fallen. Is fallen. That's two. Which is the number of either division or faithful witness. Okay? So when God says something twice, that means that you need to listen. Like when Jesus says, truly I say unto you, when the truth tells you the truth, you need to listen. Okay? All right. He says, Babylon is fallen. Fallen that great city because she has made all the nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Fornication meaning false religion. Okay, all right. What is that? What. What are you talking about? Well, what we're talking about is what we discussed way back in, in the first few chapters is the pagan religion that began under Nimrod and his wife, all right? The Babylonian religion. If you'll listen to people that talk about world religions, they'll talk about. In the Saudis and the, and the, and the. And the Europeans and, and all the. They have all these gods, multiple gods. Okay, all right, And. And they worship these gods and they may call them by a different name, but they have the same attributes. Okay? All right, now, don't you hear me? Those are not made up things. Those are fallen angels. That they're worshiping, okay? The reason they're similar is because they dealt with them and they're the same person or the same angel, okay? They're fallen angels. And Nimrod began the great world religion, the great pagan world religion, which was polytheistic. Christianity changed all that. And you go, what about Judaism? Judaism didn't change all that on the world stage. And let me tell you why. Because the Jews were monotheistic, but the Jews were a single people group. And people understood you're you who are your gods, and you tell them who your gods were, and they go over here to this group, who are your gods? And they tell them who your gods were. And they go to the Jews, and the Jews say, we only have one God. And they would think, well, that's pitiful of y'.

All.

Seriously, that's how they saw it. And so when the Romans took them over, they were monotheistic, but it was just one group of people, okay? Jesus Christ changed the world religiously in that now you have people from all kinds of nations and tribes and languages who are now worshiping a singular God and rejecting polytheism, which, by the way, has pretty much been fundamentally rejected from a religious point of view by humanity to this day. The three major world religions are all monotheistic. Now, you said Buddhism. Buddhism's almost not got gods. And Hinduism is. Is. Is. Is waning heavily. And that's the. The final large polytheistic religion. So the truth is, is that over half the world are monotheistic, if not ⅓ or 3/4 of the world is monotheistic. Why? Why is that the case? One name, Jesus. He changed everything. Okay? Now why would God be saying that Babylon has fallen? Because you need to hear this. Babylon has fallen. He wanted man to worship him, but it was hard to get man to worship him because he was the devil of the deceiver. So what did he get human beings to do? They began to worship these fallen angels, okay? And that spread around the world. And humanity is drunk from the wine of that fornication. All right? And I'm gonna. I want you to hear me today. You are involved in that worship in some way. Every one of you are. Okay? You need to hear that. I'm not Abraham Lincoln, vampire slayer. Are you following me? What I mean by that? I don't go around and try to rid you of paganism, okay? I lead you to Jesus and let Jesus purify you from whatever he needs to purify you from. But I'm going to tell you that about 90% of the things you do during the holiday season is just outright paganism. Amen. Just letting you know. Just a word to you. Okay? All right. And. And some of you like it and you go, oh, but God will forgive me. And he will. He does. Ain't no doubt about it. Jesus paid for it all on the cross. Let's go to Jesus on the cross. But even Jesus on the cross has a bunny rabbit and eggs. And that's just straight up paganism. You know what I'm talking about? And all that stuff. You, preacher, you stepping on toes, Christmas tree and Santa Claus, and I'm just keep on going. You following me? It's all straight up paganism. Thanksgiving's got some too. Don't even get me to Mardi Gras. I mean, that's just a. That's just a straight up pagan festival. I mean, it's unadulterated. Let's just be pagans. Are you following me? All right. That's just straight up be heathens. And. And Halloween. Oh, my goodness. I mean, I mean, it's like it takes. You just take it all out and just put it out there, right? I'm telling you this for a reason. And the reason I'm saying that is not so that you'll quit doing that, okay? That's Holy Spirit's gotta lead you those things. I as a pastor have learned that when I was a young pastor, you know, I wanted to beat everybody over the head with it. Okay? Now I just go, okay, The Holy Spirit pastor, You don't have a Christmas tree? No, I don't have a Christmas tree. Okay. I didn't tell my kids Santa Claus brought them gifts, okay? There's no children here. It's okay. All right? I didn't tell them Santa Claus brought it. Me and Kathleen gave it to them and we gave it to him the night before so that they wouldn't think he was coming the next day. Okay, all right, you go. That just kind of ruins it. No, it don't. They don't ruin it a bit. Not one cotton picking bit. But if you did, your children are not going to hell. Are you following me? Why? Because it says quite clearly here that he's caused everybody to drink of the. Of the. Of the wine of that fornication, okay? You. If I got all the paganism out of you, you'd figure out some way to get back to some of it, okay? And you wouldn't even know you were in it. You know, I know y' all got all those Pharaohs on your mantles. And I mean, you just. Before you know it, I mean, I'm serious, I could walk through your house and find an angel with two wings. Okay? Am I right? All right. That's just straight paganism. I'm just being real with you. I could do all that and I could beat you up over the head with it. And it's just. And you go, well, do you have some paganism? Yes, I'm sure I do. And I don't even know what it is, okay? I got a lot of it in me, all right? There's just no doubt about it, huh? Oh, yeah. That's not paganism. That's. That's Jesus right in the middle of all that. All right? But, but, but when you, when you, when you, when you are, when you are struggling, idolatry is, is, is, is the natural tendency toward the, toward the, toward the corrupt and sinful heart, all right? And they were given that paganism to keep them from. I want you to hear me. Not to keep them from God necessarily, although it does. It was to keep them from the results of a genuine walk of faith with God. Are you following me now? Remember, the whole path. Remember, I'm here. What time is it? Quarter 10. All right, I got 15 minutes. All right, listen to me. Remember, I'm walking in darkness. I always come over here. I don't. Because it's on the left. All right, my left, not your left. I'm walking in darkness and I hear the voice of God. And the Spirit's already at work in my heart because I'm already born again. When was I born again? I don't know. He's like. He's like the wind. He comes and goes and you don't know where he's coming from. You don't know where he's going, but you know that he's there. How do I know he's there? I hear his voice. When I hear his voice, at some point in time, it may. I might be real hard headed and not listen for a long time, but when I hear his voice, I turn and am converted. Okay? By the way I was talking, there was pastor from England here. Did I say this to y' all before? It's pastor from England here. Not last Sunday, but the Sunday before last. And he uses the word. He used the word converted like three or four times. Okay? And that's straight. Spurgeon is some good stuff. Okay? He's from outskirts of London. He's got his theology just totally straight. You know what I'm Saying, he said, when they're converted. I'm sitting there, I ain't heard nobody say converted a long time. If you live in the south, they got saved, okay? Which is just redneck theology through and through, all right? It's not true. They got converted. Saved is from the moment God began to work till the moment they die. That's saved. That happens, a process, but it's just like paganism. I ain't going to get it out of you. Y' all going to say he got saved sometime. That's fine. He's converted, but that's okay. You following me? I've learned as a pastor there's some hills to die on. When we all get there, you're going to realize that was conversion and you're going to not call it saved anymore, okay? We're going to be all good to go. Nobody got saved in a moment, okay? Now, they might have been saved in some way in the moment, but salvation is a process, okay? Sanctification is a process. Justification's an event. Glorification's an event. Sanctification ain't an event. Sozo is not an event. It's a process, okay? And that's the part of the process where you truly glorify God. Because you hear his voice, you trust him, you begin to walk with him, and he can go to the whole universe and say, hey, look. Look at this messed up thing right here. Look how I fixed it. That's how you glorify, okay? So he's not going to make salvation an event when he can make it a whole process and tell a whole story using your life, okay? Salvation is the part of God's process with you that glorifies him, all right? So I hear his voice and I turn and I'm converted, and I begin to walk with him by faith, all right? As I walk with him by faith, I come to a knowledge of Him. I come to be passionate about Him. I come to love His Word. Even people that have not heard a whole lot of God's Word, they'll grab hold of something that's from God's Word and you'll hear them tell, you know, my grandmama used to say, and something, and they won't even know it's God's Word. And they'll say what they said is a quote of God's Word. That's really all they knew. And, you know, when she used to say, that just warmed my heart. And I just. I just knew we needed to go to church and trust Jesus. That's all. I know about God's word, okay? Because salvation involves a interaction with God's Word and a trusting in his revelation. Are you following me. Now? Understanding that once I start walking by faith, the process gets to a really big event, a really big. It gains momentum because I began to be delivered from the life of death. So there's deliverance. Are you following me? And deliverance, as I begin to be delivered, leads to healing. So not only am I delivered from that pain, I'm healed from it, which is two totally different things. Are you following me? I can pull you from the car and I've delivered you from the accident, right? But the healing is getting back to where you need to be, right? Healing, deliverance, healing. We meet people in the process. Some of the people that come in here haven't heard the word of God hardly at all. They hear the Word of God. It's. It's. It moves them because Jesus is powerful. The word of God moves them, and they begin to grab hold of the word of God. They still in the car, and they all busted up. You following me? You got to listen to what, you know, those who've come to help you, you know, your pastors and people who are ministering to you, and they help you out of the car, and they get you on the gurney and get you headed to the hospital. You ain't healed yet, right? And it may be that you need some operations to. For deliverance to be complete. Because you're not delivered from possible death, right? Just because you got out of car don't mean you, okay? That's why they send the helicopters and airlift you in the whole nine yards, right? All right? But once healing takes place, once you're actually healed from it, healed from the shame, healed from the doubt, healed from the fear, healed from those things, your life has been changed. Then power comes, okay? And the power is the power to fundamentally alter the world you live in by the presence of God in you. Okay? And it's not only the power to fundamentally alter the world, but it's. It's the power to. To have that assurance and joy and peace that comes from knowing God. Are you following me? All right, look, the paganism is not the issue. Are you following me? But it can take you off the path of the healing, okay? You know what I'm talking about. I mean, you've been doing something. You got some kind of revelation from God and the things that you used to do that you thought was so good, and everybody loved it, and there's a kind of family thing you don't want to do anymore. How many of y' all ever had that happen? I'm tired of doing this right. It's propagating something ain't good. We know. We do that. We know you. Everybody in Here who's over 30 years old knows you've had that experience. Especially vulnerable God, we got to quit doing this. It's bad, you know, and you don't even know why. Well, it's God kind of delivering you from those things, the things of this world, which includes that paganism. Now, I want you to hear me. I'm telling you this for a reason, because he says Babylon is fallen. All right, so what has happened? Paganism has fallen. Now Jesus ain't coming back. So that's a big change. And what is the big change? Well, we saw it in the chapter before Satan has set up. I want you to hear me. A new world religion. It used to be the true worship of God or paganism. That's why God said, don't worship anything in the heavens or under the earth. On the earth, nothing that was made by God. Do not worship those things. Why? Because that involves that paganism. All right? Satan through the Antichrist, the two beast, he's going to do what? He's going to get rid of paganism. It's going to fall. It's going to quit being the thing, because who's going to be the one that they're trying to get to worship? They're going to try to get you to worship the beast in the temple, and he's going to lead you to worship Satan. So all that paganism is going to be out. Babylon has fallen. It's fallen. It's over. Now it's going to be a stark contrast. You're either going to worship God or you're going to worship the devil, specifically. Remember, what did he want when he fell? He wanted to be as God. He wants to be the center of glorification and worship. That's what he wants to do. And that's what this verse is telling us. That's what this passage is. This, this whole chapter is giving us that transition to the end. And so it is. I want you to hear me. In the book of the Revelation, it's from here to the time Jesus comes back, okay? It's going to be totally different than what we're used to. So as we look at it, we're going to have to begin to look, say, well, remember, this is not. We're not under this. And that's why I've went through that whole dispensation explanation. All right? We're not in that. We're not in the church age. We're not even in the age where human beings are the ones telling the gospel. We went from God meeting man in the garden and man knowing him personally, to man being separated from God and God telling people about himself through the message of angels, To God revealing himself in his incarnate nature, in his Son, to God revealing himself through indwelt human beings to God. Going back, I forgot the prophets in the Old Testament. He through the angels and then through the prophets, those who deliver God's word. Then you've got Jesus. Then you've got the New Testament church and those who relate the message of God. The church giving the good news of Jesus Christ. The church being removed back to the prophets. The 144,000 prophets, 140,000 profits removed. We're back to who? The angels? I want you to hear me. Human beings have rejected that message at every phase. And they go to hell. They go to hell, and it's only right that they go to hell. I'm not being ugly. Y' all know I don't preach that all the time. That's not a message. That's. That's not. I'm not a. I'm not a. A. A purveyor of. Of. Of judgment and death. Why? Because I'm. I'm. I'm a preacher of the good news. Okay? Here's the thing about judgment, death, that's the natural state of man. I don't have to preach. You're going to hell. For you to go to hell, you're going to hell anyway. If you're going to hell, you're going to hell. Nothing I say or do can change that. You following me? But the good news does change a whole lot of things, right? So we believe that. As you go today, I pray that.

The Lord will bless you and keep you you. That he'll make his face to shine upon you and that he will give you hope and peace today in Jesus name.
