The Revelation 14:12
I am Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and had been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. The purpose of studying scripture is that you might know the character of Jesus Christ, and that you might see the world from the Father's perspective. That you gain wisdom that changes your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open His word to you and allow you to see Him and to know Him. To know His will, that you might glorify Him and that you might walk in faith and power each day, especially today. In Jesus name.

This is Chad Harrison and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life. Hi, this is Chad Harrison and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today in Jesus name.
Verse 12 says this, and there's a transition that's happening here. And the transition is, is we're, we're seeing, and we talked about this a while back, that the only message that is being received by the flesh of this world, and I use that term specifically, the only message that is being received by the flesh of the world is the angelic message. So we have this angel that is spreading the message of the word of God. Okay? Now that's important because in context of what we've been studying for the last few weeks on Sunday Morning, and for me, this is of the greatest importance because when we live in a time where the Bible says that the Holy Spirit is being poured out on all flesh, okay? Which means that quite literally, as far as the universe that we live in and the world that we live in, the most dominant force in this world that's at work in this world today is the Holy Spirit and it is the kingdom of God. Okay? Now that kingdom is not a place or a geographical location. That kingdom is within us. And so that which we take dominion over. And when I say dominion, I'm talking about spiritual authority over is ours and the forces of darkness and the kingdom of darkness that exists around us only has what we refuse to take or neglect to take or ignorantly have. No idea that it's ours. And the whole idea where in John, by the way, I was just informed by a sweet lady who does our prayer sheet that she looked in her Bible and I started the book of John in August of 19. No, it was 2020, 2023. She gave me a message of encouragement right up here when she was up here talking to me. So what does that mean, Pastor? Well, that means I'm in chapter nine. So that means it's going to be a five year book. Just letting y' all know. Okay? All right. But in that book he says that this happens so that God may be glorified. All right? The reason the Holy Spirit's being poured out on all flesh is so that God might harvest the most glory during this time period. Okay. And the church in many ways has been muted and doesn't realize that what you do, what we do by faith, meaning hearing it, trusting it, acting upon it, what we do by faith is leveraged by the Holy Spirit. What I mean by that? Well, that. What I mean by that is you are using a. You are using a force that magnifies what you do by faith in ways you can't imagine. But we walk around as if we're pushing against something that we can't push through. And there has to become an expectation. Because we are in the church age, we're fixing to talk about what's not the church age. There has to be an expectation that we are going to have and become and walk in all the promises of God. Or you neglect them, or you're ignorant as to them, or you just don't do what you're supposed to do to bring them about. And when we. When we don't realize that the Holy Spirit didn't operate the same way in the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit didn't operate the same way before the Flood. The Holy Spirit literally has a presence here. Inhuman beings. Now we get to this next passage, this next passage, and you realize that the people that are living in the time that they're living in don't have any of the advantages of the Holy Spirit. They don't have the Holy Spirit working like he works for us, doing what he does for us. And so there's this verse here in verse 12 where it says, and this requires the perseverance of the saints.
Or.
The steadfastness of the saints. Well, why is it saying that? Well, it's saying that because these people are have to having to go off a message from an angel. They're not hearing the voice of God like you're hearing the voice of God. The Holy Spirit's not being poured out on all flesh. We're in the midst of the great, and we're about to enter into the worst part of it. The great wrath of God being poured out on the earth. And there are saints that are going to be won during this. And that's why it says this requires the perseverance of the saints. But we as believers sometimes get so wrapped up in your perception of what's happening and how well you can control it for it to be what you want it to be. And the truth is if you just listen to the Holy Spirit, he would start fixing those things, orienting your mind toward what he's doing. Quite literally remove your worry, your doubt, your fear, quite literally move you into a position where you're literally pushing and taking control of things that I don't see a lot of believers even recognizing that's possible. God says here for these folks, he says this requires their perseverance. They're just going to have to stay steadfast just to survive it. You are living in an age where you quite literally have the angelic host ministering spirits, millions and billions of them ministering and working around you all the time. The manifest goodness of God, literally the promised land, God's rest, which is the spirit filled Christian life, is available to you. And we act a lot of the times like we're drowning. And you quite literally couldn't drown if you had to. I oftentimes when I'm, when I'm doing this, I don't want to give you illustrations of my own life all the time because I don't want it. I don't want you to lose your focus. Because when I hear a story of something happening to somebody else, oftentimes my thoughts are. Your thoughts are. Yeah, but you know God loves him more. Yeah, but he knows more than I do. Yeah, but you know, I'm this and they're that. Right. Happens all the time. And what you do is in your own heart and your mind. You negate what the Holy Spirit could be doing for you. Verse 12 says this requires the perseverance of the sights. I'm telling you, nothing in your lifetime.
As you go today, I pray that the Lord will bless you and keep you, that he'll make his face to shine upon you and that he will give you hope and peace today in Jesus name.
