I am Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and had been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. The purpose of studying scripture is that you might know the character of Jesus Christ, and that you might see the world from the Father's perspective. That you gain wisdom that changes your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open His word to you and allow you to see Him and to know Him. To know His will, that you might glorify Him and that you might walk in faith and power each day, especially today. In Jesus name.

This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life. Hi, this is Chad Harrison and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today in Jesus name.

So he. He who sat on the cloud, thrust his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped. Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven. He also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar who had the power over fire. And he cried with a loud voice. To whom? To him who had the sharp sickle, saying, thrust in your sharp sickle and. And gather the cluster of the vines of the earth. For her grapes are fully ripe. Now, there's a famous song that's written about this because they're reaping, right? And they're reaping grape, which is notice usually the goodness of the Holy Spirit. Right? Does anybody know what the song is? My nines have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord. He is trampling out the vintage where the wrath are stored Bones is marching on. They not. They're not the grapes you like. And not the grapes you like. They're the grapes that have been growing since Adam ate the fruit of the tree. They're the grapes that have been growing for thousands of years. Jesus is not reaping a harvest of believers. My dad believed that this was talking about a harvest of believers. I don't. It's a harvest of God's wrath. That's why he had to say to them. This requires perseverance of the saints. Blessed are those who die, not the ones who what? Live. Blessed are those who die. Let's read it again so we can make sure we get it right. Let's go to 1314 again so we can get. I mean, 12 and 13. Here's the patient of saints. Here are those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, right, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Which means you're blessed. To what? To die. That they may Rest from their labors and their works follow them. What is he saying? It's better off to be dead if you're a believer. It's a blessing to be dead if you're a believer. Today. That's not true. It's not wrong with dying. But while you're in the world, you get the labor in the kingdom. You're awash in the Holy Spirit. You have all the opportunities to build treasure and build kingdom all around you all the time. He said, to live is Christ, to die is gain. Many people think that gain means that I get something better when I die. That is not what he's talking about. That's an economic phraseology. You know what it means? Well, if I buy a stock, had to run through this with my brother this week. If I buy a stock at say, $150 a share. And I don't sell it and it's now at $400 a share, then I have what's known as an unrealized gain, Which means I don't have the money yet, but I have the value of the stock at the highest value it's being sold at now. Are you following me? All right. You have a whole lot of. Well, hopefully you have a whole lot of unrealized gain on all your investments in the spiritual kingdom of God, right? When you die, you realize the gain. So when Paul said, to live as Christ, to die is to gain, which means I'm going to realize my profits. I'm going to fully get to enjoy the gains that I've made. Because some of the gains that you've made, you didn't even know you made. Some of the gains that you have, you have no clue that you got them. You've got accounts, you've got stocks that have been earning you interest for a long, long time. You don't even remember them. They just are a natural outgrowth of the blessing of living in a time where the Holy Spirit is moving around you all, all over the place. I don't have to make sure my investment grows. It just grows. I don't have to do anything. I just put it out there. I might plant a little seed investment. I might water a little seed investment. I might get on the tractor and help bring in the harvest investment. You have no idea what's going on around you sometimes. And the problem is, the problem is when you don't live a life in expectation of it, you miss out on it. You continue to allow. What would be the natural end of the wrath of God. Is there shame from the wrath of God? Yeah. Is there pain? Is there death? Absolutely. But you're not living in that. You're absolutely not living in that. And your words have power. Your words literally have power. Look, I can go straight Pentecostal on you if you wanted me to, okay? I know how hard it is for Baptist to. To handle that. Methodist, and I know we, most of us come from that, okay? But I'm going to be real with you. 8 to 27, I read God's Word. I learned a whole lot about it. But when I got put in a position where I had to trust in God because I couldn't use anything else other than the gifts he's given me, where I was at, I had nobody, nobody to help me with it. I started reading through the Bible and I realized, you know, there's more to it than just God's good to you and he's going to save you one day, and, you know, he wants you to have. Have some joy and some peace. I started realizing, you know, speaking that which isn't as if it is. Did Jesus start talking about the power of the tongue. When you read that passage? If you're a good Baptist boy, you realize you need to quit saying some of the ugly stuff you're saying. Am I right? And a good Baptist sermon is going to tell you that, too, now. Going to ride you. You are saying ugly stuff, and you need to quit saying that ugly stuff. That is not the basis of that passage. Are y' all listening to me? That is not the reason he said that. That has nothing to do with that. He said that so that you would realize the power your tongue has not for evil, but for good. Why? You're already using it for evil. If I said you speak evil of people all the time, you go, yeah, I do. They call gossip tea now? I guess so they feel better about it, right? What's the T? Isn't that what they call it? Right? Hello. A lot of women. A lot of women looking down. I don't know what he's talking about. Is it a. Is it a fire among your body? Is it highly destructive? Yeah. Has it been that way since you could start talking? My granddaughter was with us this weekend. Two days. I ain't going to lie to you. She's awake. She's talking. Reminds me those days when I was riding in the car, going on a trip. Two girls would be in the back seat, my wife be in the front seat, all three of them talking at the same time. I don't know how they understood what anybody was saying, all God's men said, amen. Your tongue got power. And is Jesus trying to tell us that so we quit using it to burn things up? I want you to hear me. No. Although you should. The lesson here is that your tongue is powerful. It's able to speak life. You've been using it the other way your whole life. Let's try to speak life. What. What does he say? Blessed is the perseverance of the saints. Please live by faith. That's the only thing they got to hope in. That's all they got. And then it says, and listen, they're blessed if they die. Look, you. You're blessed if you die because you're going to realize your gain. But you do understand that the moment you die, the unrealized gain's over. You can't invest anymore. You're going. Well, doesn't it go on past me? Yes, but you got to remember, I can only invest this much. The investing part ends.

Does it keep.

Does the part that I'm I put in keep growing? Sure it does, but I can't invest anymore. Do y' all even understand what I'm talking about? That's why Jesus said, while it's daylight, I got to be doing what God told me to do. I got to do the works of my Father. Night's coming. I'm dying. But that's a way of looking at your life. It's a fundamental way of looking at what I do every day, every moment. I don't care if you're tired, sick, your back hurts. I'm being serious with you. I have empathy for you if your back hurts. But I'm sorry. I grew up with a mama who did not get have any empathy. She fixed a broken finger while I was playing, taped it to the other finger, gave me an aspirin, put me back on the field. I didn't grow up with that kind of empathy. Get to work today. Get to work. Okay. I want you to hear me. You are awash. Can I say this again? You are Awash in the Holy Spirit. He is literally everywhere around you. You are swimming in an ocean of the grace of God. These people, not so much. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord. This is not a positive scene, okay? It's called the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Why? Because they're going out to send people to see the one who's harvesting the grapes of wrath. As you go today, I pray that.

The Lord will bless you and keep you, that he'll make his face to shine upon you that and that he will give you hope and peace t
