Hope Alive: Applying God’s Word to Your Daily Life
The Revelation 14:19-20
I am Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and had been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. The purpose of studying scripture is that you might know the character of Jesus Christ, and that you might see the world from the Father's perspective. That you gain wisdom that changes your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open His word to you and allow you to see Him and to know Him. To know His will, that you might glorify Him and that you might walk in faith and power each day, especially today. In Jesus name.

This is Chad Harrison and you're listening to Hope Alive, applying God's word to your daily life. Hi, this is Chad Harrison and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today in Jesus name.
So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and get gathered the vine of the earth and threw it in the great wine press of the wrath of God. And the wine press was trampled outside the city and the blood came out to the one of the wine press up to the horse's bridles for 1,600 furlongs. That's 180 miles. That's some wrath. But in God upset with me when I do wrong. Yes, But he's not, he's not harvesting the, the grapes. What he's saying is he's fixing to kill a lot of folks. If we go by our numbers, 8 trillion people, 8 billion people on the earth, 4 billion die before this. The saints all die while it's going on. So from now till Jesus brings his millennial kingdom, there's going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 to 5 billion people killed in this book. Watching something today on Somalia. Did y' all know they're having problems over there? I am all the time, apparently. You know, we totally exited Somalia. And I'm not being negative at all, but we exited because they shot down a couple of Blackhawks and they killed several of our soldiers. And we don't like you to kill any of our soldiers if you kill one of ours. We like to kill a couple hundred of yours. And by the way, most estimates are that for every soldier killed in Mogadishu during Black Hawk down, somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 to 200 people that were fighting them got killed. You know that, right? I mean, they was having to send hundreds to kill one. I mean, we just wiping them out like it ain't nothing. We get upset about a few soldiers dying. Classes from West Point and I can't remember the name of the British one, but I actually had some kids come to Princeton that were there and we did some exercises with them. I can't remember the name of it. They would have a class show up on the battlefield, put them in charge. Look, lieutenants, The same day, they went to school for four years, they graduated, took them out there, put them in charge of units, told them to get up, charge the machine gun nest. Not all together. It wasn't like they were all fighting together, them and the men that they were in charge of. Them, by the hundreds of thousands were dying. Our worst war for us was the Civil War. Brett, do you know exactly how many people died in the Civil war? Wasn't it 70,000? That's a H. 700,000, 690,000. He had another 3 or 400,000 die from disease. Right. You know, many Russians died during World War II. We don't know for sure, but we know it was at least 20 million, if not 40 million. The Great Leap forward, which wasn't even a war in China. Somewhere around 60 million people died. You know, they decided that they put all the smart people out there doing the farming and not let the farmers do the farming, and that would cause the society to move forward. 60 million dead, starved to death and that. I'm telling you this stuff because none of it touches what's about to happen here. Because when the wrath of God's poured out, it is terrible, Terrible. And you go, pastor, why do these things happen? Well, Russian and Communist Party, godless. Paul Potts, Khmer Rouge, godless. One of the sure ways to get slowed down on Facebook. Y' all ready for it? The most powerful force on Facebook, the ccp. Communist Chinese Party, godless. **** germany, godless. Japan had a God, Not the real God. Godless. Godlessness leads to the wrath of God. You are not in that. When we read the book of the Revelation, you cannot comprehend how terrible this is going to be. We're fitting to get to a part we're figging to. Okay, we're figging to get to a part. Okay, we're about to get to a part that you're not from the South. Do you know what figgin to means? It means about to. All right, we're going to get to a part where they ask the rocks to fall on them and they won't kill them. They can't die because God's going to keep whooping them and won't let them die. And I say that because whenever I listen to somebody talk about this part of the revelation, they just really get into, you know, the wrath of God, those godless people. And for me, in my mind, all I can think of is, we're in a what? We're literally out there floating in the ocean of God's grace and acting like we live where the sickle is, harvesting the grapes in the wine pressed of God's wrath. We literally act like that's where we live. You ain't got a clue. Stop. Quit bellyaching. Quit whining. Yeah, but Pastor Chad, you know, my son's got all these problems.
Okay?
Have you ever asked God what he liked to do about it? Have you ever said, well, God, my expectation is that you're going to do these things because that's in your word, and I'm living by those promises and I'm going to quit saying that about him. You go, well, that's just, you know, that's just positive. No, it's not positive thinking. It's. It's. Seriously, I'm not giving you the power of positive thinking. I'm giving you the power of godly thinking, which is different. Positive thinking is everything's wonderful. That's positive thinking. Don't think anything negative. I want you to think something negative. I want you to fully see your son's issue, and then I want you to speak every piece of life that there is in the word of God over that situation as if it is going to happen. It's not dressing it up and making it look good. It's not you just putting the blinders on and everything's going to be okay. It's not going to be okay. If God doesn't show up, it ain't going to be okay. Can I tell y' all that God doesn't show up, it ain't going to be okay. Right? But you got power in it. He says, in your tongue is the power of life. Your lungs are full of the breath of the Holy Spirit. You start. You got to start looking at like, okay, well, if this is how it works, then exactly how is God going to glorify himself and do big stuff in this circumstance? And here's the cool thing about it. It won't ever stay that way. And you'll come up with some of the greatest things God could do in that circumstance, and it won't stay that way. And it'll turn out better than you thought it would turn out. But if the person who is supposed to be speaking life into the situation is not. I mean, you realize how frustrating that is. You're the one. You're the one supposed to be speaking life. If we just do it a little bit, what will happen. If we just started looking around and saying Where's God at and all this. What might happen? I mean. I mean, you see what's happened here. I'm just telling you just a little bit. This is just a little bit what might happen if we move it to the next level. I'm talking about, you know, move out of first gear. Praise God, we in first gear. Lot of churches keep putting it in reverse, right? Reverse, reverse. They can't get that. Clutch, clutch keep sticking. Am I right? I can't get it out of reverse. All right, we're in first gear. Pastor, you saying we're not moving very. No, we're not. We're not. If we're in a wash of God's grace, we just barely going. We're just barely going, which is great. Everybody's loving it, right? Can you imagine if we got to third gear? Look, we can't get there tomorrow, but. But what if we get there in the next 30 years? What might be going on around here? What could possibly be happening for us? Can you imagine how great it could be? It'd be, it'd be totally fundamentally world changing if we got to third gear. When I read this book, it makes me think of what is going on there. Sure, but where do I live? None of that's happening to me. I get no wrath when God sees me. He sees Jesus when I enter into his throne room. I have all the promises that he said I could have. He sees me as literally his son, a co heir with Christ. I'm a royal prince in the kingdom of God. As you go today, I pray that.
The Lord will bless you and keep you, that he'll make his face to shine upon you and that he will give you hope and peace today
