This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life.

Hi, this is Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years.

I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life.

I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day,

especially today in Jesus name.

And I just explained to you what about people?

Does. Does God judge those who don't know as much as you?

No, he doesn't judge them on my standard.

He judges them on their standard.

He judges on their level of revelation. And you go, well, where's that in the Bible? Well, I'm going to tell you the oldest book in the Bible. As far as the story in the Bible, other than the creation account and the flood account, is the story of Job.

Job didn't know who God was.

Job didn't have any scripture.

He did. He. All he had was what he could clearly identify in how God had made the world around him.

Okay?

And he could have clearly identified that there were some problems.

And those problems were caused by man's failures.

And so death and failure were a result of man's problems. And even though his, you know, his friends and his. His wife kept telling him, you know,

that you just need to get rid of God and get him out of the equation and just curse God and die,

he kept saying, no, I know that the reason all these things are happening is because we're. We're flawed.

Okay?

All right?

And when it gets down to the end and he's talking to them and explaining that to them,

he says,

I know that we're sinful,

but I also.

Know that there is redemption.

And that redemption comes from somebody. And that redeemer lives. I know my Redeemer lives. It is the verse of Job. I know my Redeemer lives.

How did he know God had revealed it to him?

Had he revealed it from Scripture?

No, he hadn't.

He hadn't revealed it from Scripture.

Had he revealed it by an angel?

No.

The reason he didn't curse God and die at the start is because he already had that revelation.

Now, does God increase his revelation?

Sure he does. He has him stand right in front of him and he puts him to the test.

Okay, now that's cool and not cool all at the same time. All right,

so at the end of that, he sure enough has got revelation from God, right? Direct revelation from God. But up until that point, he could have just cursed God and died,

but he didn't.

Why? Because he had revelation.

From God. And how did God judge him based.

Off of that revelation?

Right?

And then when he got off the path, he got him back on the path,

right?

Now I'm telling you that for a reason.

When God reveals something to you, let's bring it full circle,

okay?

The reason you hate yourself or hate the things that you do, the reason Paul can say the things I do, I don't want to do, and the things I don't want to do, I keep on doing.

Who can redeem me or save me or deliver me from this body of death?

The reason he can say that is because he's got revelation and he's acted on that revelation. And it is his revelation.

So he knows what he should do and he knows what he shouldn't do.

And he hates himself because he keeps on doing it and he loathes it.

Am I right?

He loathes it. He can't stand stinks and he can't stand it, and it's only his own stink.

Understanding that.

Understanding that when you get revealed something and you don't act on it,

you are still responsible for it.

And by the way, you're not going to be responsible when you get your glorified body.

You're responsible for it now.

Right now.

Now you go. Well, Pastor, why don't you just not tell us anything and we'll just walk around ignorant and you know, we won't be responsible for it. Well, the problem with that is you're gonna have to eat manna and drink from the rock and whine and complain on the foot of the mountain and you're gonna be afraid of God and afraid of everything and never ever have anything of the goodness of God.

Is that the way you want to live? So, sadly, a lot of Christians.

Yes.

Sad. No, no. They are. They are. They're Christians.

They just want to come to church on Sunday morning. Don't be. Don't be stepping on my toes too much.

You know what I'm talking about. Let's sing a couple of songs.

I'm going to let the preacher preach. Don't be preaching past 12 o'. Clock.

Or if you've moved it to 10:30 so you make it to the restaurant by 11:30 to beat the Methodist don't be preaching past 11:30. Okay?

Sadly, a lot of Christians do not want to deal with God personally. Directly.

Straightforward.

And listen, they're Christians, and you asked that question.

It's a good question. Are they Christians? Yeah. If we use the pictures, they are.

If you're eating the manna, drinking from the water out in the wilderness, you've had God's word revealed. You've heard him say it. Yeah. You're a Christian. You know how I know that?

Cause you already went through the blood.

The blood was put over the doorpost. You went through the blood and then you went through the waters.

You were redeemed out of Egypt,

but all you're doing is just sitting there. Moses, you just tell us what to do.

Do you hear what Moses told us to do?

Can you believe that rascal told us to do that?

Yeah, Moses. Keep on going.

That old fool. You know you can't listen to him.

You tell me.

Ain't Christians that are just that way.

And you know what they do? They never experience God. They never see God. They never hear God. They never know anything.

Yes, ma'. Am.

Heidi.

Amen. Heidi. They have no joy. There is no joy.

The only joy we have is to do the will of our Father,

which means you gotta hear his will,

you gotta believe his will, you gotta act on his will. I don't know who's been saying that, but somebody I know been saying that for several years.

Okay?

And if he's loud, big, kind of obnoxious dude. All right,

but. But, but if you don't do that, Heidi's right. You ain't got no joy, you ain't got no peace.

All that's in the promised land.

There's no power there, really, tell you the truth, not a lot of hope.

In fact, you might even get to a place where at your church, they pray a prayer right at the end that says, in the end, may we all get there.

Y' all know there's a denomination. That's what they pray at the end of every service.

Yeah, there is.

Hey, show is all right. There's a lot of other jokes about them, too, but.

But anyway, you know. You know what that prayer means?

That prayer means we not sure of anything.

We ain't sure if you're going to get in or get out.

In fact, we.

We.

If you.

Unless you just came out of the water and had a heart attack right after you were baptized, we're not even sure you're going.

I believe that,

and I'm going to tell you why they believe that it's. It's the natural end to a rejection.

Of acting upon the clear instructions of God's word.

Now, I'm going to tell you, there's a lot of things I know about me.

I know I'm a sinner. I know I'm prideful, lustful. What is it called when you eat too much glutton?

That I've lied, I've stolen, I've cheated? Yeah. Pride, ego, all of it. I know all that. All of it. You know what else I know?

I know the power of God. I've experienced it. I've walked in it. I've seen it. I've acted upon it. I know what it is.

So all the other stuff, the things I keep on doing that I don't.

Want to do, thanks be to God, who's redeemed me from those things.

And I can walk in his power and his grace, and I can have.

His goodness and his joy and peace and completeness.

And by the way,

the joy and the peace happen where they're fighting the giants.

You do know that, right?

When they get in the promised land, the giants don't go, oh, we give up. We fooled y' all 40 years ago, but now we're giving up.

No, they got to whoop them. All of them keep having to whoop them.

All right? So it ain't going to be like. It ain't going to get any easier. But you're not going to have any joy and peace if you don't.

And so when these people have these loathsome sores that are on them,

when they have those things that are just terrible to them,

they're terrible to them, and they're terrible to them. I want you to hear me.

Because they have had the revelation of God. You go, Preacher Willis, what you talking about?

One of my favorite passages. I'm like Tina with the Bible, okay? Romans, chapter one.

What might be known about God?

His invisible qualities are clearly seen in that which was created so that you are without excuse.

His divine nature,

his eternal qualities are clearly seen in that which he created so that you are without excuse.

And you know who stands to condemn them the most is Job.

Because he knew God's divine qualities and his eternal nature and what he saw in what God made.

So when somebody says, well, what if somebody ain't heard about Jesus?

They still without excuse.

They're still without excuse because whatever God's revealed to them,

they have to act on in faith.

And here's the cool thing.

The most just righteous one gets to decide he Knows whether or not you trusted in what he revealed to you.

He knows he does.

And you definitely are. Without excuse.

So you can play that little church.

Game if you want to.

And I'm not being ugly to y'.

All because y' all don't do that. But most every else, everywhere else I have been, that's pretty much the way it's been.

You can play all these games with.

God you want to.

But you are.

Not lacking in revelation.

You've been given God's word, a steady.

Diet of it by many, many people who believe it.

And you are without excuse.

You are without excuse.

So you got to live it out, walk it out, do it out. And as poorly as you do it, you better get after it.

You following me? Even if you bad at it, even if you never get good at it, that's fine.

Walk it out.

Okay. No matter what happens, walk it out.

That's 658. Look at that. Almost like it was planned. All right. Because you know, I didn't plan it.

Got two minutes. So. Was it only one? It's two. Thank you. Well, I've been. And, Josh, I've been going one verse at a time for a while now.

Why you gimme that look, baby?

I'll find out when I get home. Does the bag say Vex?

No, it says V and A. The Victoria and Albert Museum. It's a museum in London. Anyway, so what a.

What a great crowd in July.

Am I right?

I mean, we got a huge crowd here in July.

Only bodes well. I'm telling you, when I take a measuring stick, when I measure what God's doing for this church, every time I.

Measure, it turns out really, really good.

Every time you just look around, you.

Go, what about this?

Even when it seems rough, it's real good.

Real good all the time. And I want you to know that. And that's because a group of people decided that they would do what God told them to do,

and they walked it out.

And then they attracted people that have done the same.

Okay?

So anytime you're dealing with passages like.

This,

there's always just past it. The solace of knowing.

I had done what I have. I have chosen to trust what God has said.

Not always great,

but I've chosen to do it.

And you can't beat that.

It's those who just will not do it who are without excuse.

And that's why, in some ways, they're worse off than the world.

Am I right?

Because they are. Yeah. Because I already know.

Let's pray. Father, we thank you for your word.

Sure do.

Thank you. That we can just dig in your.

Word and just find all kinds of good stuff. Father,

we can just struggle with it. And Father see things that are just amazing.

Father, it's evidence of who you are that you could write all these books by dozens of authors on three different continents over a period of a couple of thousand years.

And Father, it all just flows together and works together and all of it just fits. Father, because it's you.

It's all you.

And so Father, it's your son. It's his revelation to us. Father, we just thankful to have it.

Father, we want to walk in it. And Father, we.

We.

Father, we.

We confess that we don't oftentimes do it. But Father, we want to.

Father, we want your help and Father, we want to be like.

Be like that man with that son that kept falling into the fire.

Father, we believe.

Help us in our unbelief that we might believe more and more in Jesus name. Amen.

As you go today, I pray that.

The Lord will bless you and keep you. That he'll make his face to shine upon you and that he will give you hope and peace today in Jesus name.
