This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life.

Hi, this is Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years.

I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life.

I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day,

especially today,

in Jesus name.

You say. I thought you went to Princeton. Yeah, I went.

And?

Well, it did. All right. He says, here,

I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beach which was full of me. The woman was arrayed in purple and silver. And remember, clothing represents what the covering of sin.

So the Babylonian garment would have been.

Would have been a garment that covered sin,

but it would have been paganism, right all the way back to Babylon.

This woman is mystery Babylon,

okay?

She's mystery Babylon.

And I want you to hear me. It's not by accident. Remember,

the battle of AI takes place west of Jericho. Where is Jericho?

Where is Jericho today? What country is it in?

Israel? What country is Babel or Babylon in Iraq.

All right, now, if you go look on a map,

that's a long ways apart. If you got a plane,

it's a longer way apart. If you got a car,

if all you got's a donkey or two feet, that's a long way away.

Okay?

He took a Babylonian garment.

How was there a Babylonian garment in j. In Jericho?

I don't know.

But I know God made sure it was there so that you would know the picture. You would see the picture. You wouldn't be hidden from the picture.

He took the devoted things and he hid it under a Babylonian garment.

It's not by accident. That's why I believe every part of this word. That's why we study it like we do.

I believe God knows everything and he's omnipresent. He knows that this has effectual work to be done right here, right now.

He was adorned with gold and with precious stones and pearls.

Having a golden cup full of abomination.

I'm sorry, not he. And adorned with gold, precious stones, pearls. Having his hand golden cup full abominations and filthiness of her fornication.

Now, I want you to listen to me before we go through this list. What's missing.

Let me read the list to you.

She's arrayed in purple and scarlet. That's her outfit.

She's adorned with gold,

precious stones,

pearls.

Having in her hand a golden cup full of the abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. Golden cup. Which means this cup is made of gold. It's the royalty. It.

It. It is a. It is a Canaanite firstborn. He said kill all the Canaanites.

Period.

And the reason is. And we've been through this is spelled out. I can't tell you which Bible study it's in, but it's in. It's in Leviticus for numbers. The reason is.

Is. And by the way, we're going to get to it again.

Molech is because they worship the God Molech.

And Molech was the God of human sacrifice. Worse than human sacrifice is the God of sacrificing children on a brazen altar.

Newborn babies to be exact.

Okay.

God said of all the things they did, that's one thing he would not forgive.

Okay.

He wouldn't forgive it. You ain't getting away with that.

And because the Canaanites were actively involved in that.

And the Canaanites were likely from the.

My mind's going blank.

But they were the sea people who are likely from Carthage or Carthaginians.

Okay.

Because Carthage practiced.

Carthage practiced child sacrifice.

And I want you to notice Rome is considered hell in scripture as far as a picture.

But what did Rome do to Carthage?

Sacked it.

Removed every stone,

killed every Carthaginian, every. And salted the plains of Carthage so that nothing could grow there for a thousand years.

Yes, ma'. Am.

It could be Nephilim. It could be. And it says there were ne. Nephilim in the land. But I think it's more than Nephilim. I think that God had him kill everyone because he was not going to allow child sacrifice to be a part of it.

God takes child sacrifice very seriously.

Even if it's couched in modern medicine.

He says that. That abomination is filthiness. By the way, whenever you read abomination in scripture, you need to take it for serious. It's mentioned in Romans 1:2. So you need to look at it.

The end of Romans.

It's mentioned there too.

Just letting you know.

For all those who believe that it's only mentioned in the Old Testament. It's not. It's in Romans.

An owner for Name was written.

659.

Okay, I'm not doing that. I ain't got to do that. I Can't do that.

All right?

Her name is going to be an abomination, too,

and it's going to be blasphemous.

Okay?

I'm going to call him Jesus, right? When I call his name, it's going to be Jesus.

Okay,

well, am I, Am I, Am I, Am I, Am I blaspheming Jesus's name by calling him Jesus? No, because Jesus is actually Joshua. Remember? It's not the verbal name. It's not what you say with your mouth,

okay?

It is what the name represents in its fullness,

okay?

And that name is described somewhere. The names of God are defined somewhere. Where is that in the Bible,

okay?

So if I misuse God's word or misuse his name,

Then. Then I am, I am attributing to him things that are not true, and then I'm living my life based on those untruths.

It's. It's a really insidious problem.

It digs down deep inside of you.

So when we deal with blasphemy,

it's, it's, it's like everything we do as Christians,

we focus on the minor and we don't get anything into the major.

We're all worried about whether men wear hats in church.

This is from when I was growing up,

right?

But we didn't wonder, worry whether women wore hats in church,

right?

Because if you're going to make men not wear them,

though, all the women gots to wear them.

Because it some comes from the same passage,

right?

Huh?

When I was a youth minister and bold with a big mouth,

and I had a teenager in my youth group at church on Wednesday night and they had a hat on. I had an old lady come up.

The old lady would been my age now come up and say,

say, brother Chad, you letting them boys wear hats in the church? I turned to her and say, where's your ha.

I just blow them. They go, what are you talking about? Where's my hat?

Then they just wander off into the darkness down the hall.

You know what I'm talking about?

I say that because what is one of the other things that you had to do when you came to church,

huh?

You had to wear a dress if you're a woman,

right? A skirt.

And a man had to wear a tie at a minimum,

even if you didn't know how to tie it,

even if it hit you about right here.

Am I right?

Even if you wore it with a sports shirt,

right? You had to wear a tie.

Where'd that come from?

And by the way, they'd stand outside the churches, I'm told in the 40s and 50s, and the Deacons wouldn't let you in if you weren't dressed right.

Also wouldn't let you in if you're a certain color. Okay,

that went on into the 80s in this town.

Yes, ma'. Am. It did.

That doggone show, did it? Don't now,

but remember, there's repercussions for it all over the place.

It don't just go away.

Okay,

so you could wear a tie and a suit and show up to church with your wife. And if she had a little bruise on her face because you popped her, well, you know, that's no big deal.

But you were dressed okay for church and you didn't have a hat on.

You know what I'm talking about.

You notice how you majored on the minors and didn't minor on, didn't make.

Regulation. God, and received God well, when they were in the fields, they were all sitting on their wagons or their donkeys or whatever they rode in on. But when they came down front,

they didn't have but one or two sets of clothes Provide.

Of the gate. Through the gate. Who's the gate?

Go through the gate and there's a prescription for how you worship. I go through the gate with what thanks and pray. Enters gates with thanksgiving, enters courts with praise, right?

Then I come to the washing area and I wash by the Holy Spirit,

right?

So I sing and I get cleansed by the Holy Spirit. And then I go to the first altar and what I do, I offer myself as a living sacrifice. Then I go into the temple and inside the temple I hear from God,

okay?

The outer court was where they'd sit and they'd hear teaching.

Then they'd go into the inner court and they would have the showbread and the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit would unveil to them the show bread unveiled to them.

The word of God. Make it known to them to go, oh, I know what God's saying to me about this. And then they'd go into the holy of holies.

Now, they couldn't go in, but you can because you are a son of God.

Amen.

As you go today, I pray that the Lord will bless you and keep you, that he'll make his face to shine upon you and that he will give you hope and peace today in Jesus name
