This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life. Hi, this is Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today in Jesus name.
And I fell at his feet to worship him. Another time where we have angels revealing God. Now listen. They're powerful and they're. And they're. They're. They're awesome. Even the fallen ones, okay? Even the fallen ones. And John falls down on his. What does it say? He says, and I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, see that you do not do that. Everybody got. Anybody got a. Anybody got a Bible that puts some things in italics? All right, I want you to. I want you to listen to me that. That. They put that sentence there so you could understand it in English. He says, really only two words. See? Not or not. Don't do that. He says, don't do that. I'm your fellow servant and your brethren. Okay? And how are we brothers? Because we are separate beings. We're brothers because we have a consciousness and a consciousness that's able to know God. All right? I'm your fellow servants and. And your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Meaning I have the testimony, the revelation of Jesus. You have the testimony of Jesus. We have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God. These are pretty straightforward sayings, aren't they? Worship God. Don't worship anything else. Don't worship anything made by God. Don't worship yourself. Worship God. Remember, there's three categories of people that things. People worship. They worship the one true God. They worship something he made, or they worship their favorite something he made themselves. Okay? The third one is very seductive. Just letting you know it's very seductive. I mean, worshiping me is really, really what I'm into for. The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Okay? It's the. It's. It is the spirit of spiritual revelation. You need to hear that. All right, I'm gonna read it to you again. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit. Little case. Not. Not Pneuma. The Holy Spirit. It is the spirit of the spiritual revelation of truth, which is prophecy. Now we think of prophecy, we think of foretelling the future prophecies. Far more than that. Far. Prophecy is any spoken word that reveals spiritual truth. It can be predict, it can be foretelling the future, but it's way more than that. And so when you deal with somebody who has the spiritual gift of prophecy that's in the Bible, you're dealing with somebody who speaks spiritual truth in all its forms. And some of them are very good in different areas. Word of knowledge, an actual prophecy. Okay? These things are. I mean, these things are all encompassed in prophecy. So many times we want to translate preaching. It's not just preaching either, is really not just preaching. Preaching is actually supposed to be teaching, okay? And so is an aspect of relating spiritual truth through the Word, but it by itself is not prophecy too. Just as foretelling the future is not all a prophecy. Speaking, foretelling, telling God's word is not all a prophecy. Not getting into depth about that. Okay? So this angel saying, you need to rely. And, baby, by the way, John's the one that wrote in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God. And the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were made by him, and nothing that was made was not made by him. He's the one that wrote that. And the angels having to remind him the testimony of Jesus. What you know about Jesus is the full prophecy of God. What you know about Jesus is the full prophecy of God. Now, I saw heaven opened, So we done had the wedding feast. You go, well, Pastor, what happens in the wedding feast? We don't know. I don't know. Don't know. It's the biggest event in human history, and you don't know. It's going to be really, really good. I have no idea what it's going to be, but I'm looking forward to it. All right, we're seeing heaven opened again. Okay? When's the last time we saw heaven open, huh? Yeah, well, we also saw it open in at the beginning of chapter four. I lost everything right there. It's all right. We'll get it. We'll get it. Chapter four. All right, listen to me now. I saw heaven open, and behold a white horse. That's pretty cool. And he who sat on him was called faithful and true. Now, notice we act in faith because he acts in faith. He's faithful. What is he faithful to? He's faithful to his revelation. He's faithful to himself. Jesus is faithful to himself. He is the revelation of God. And he doesn't turn from who he is. He doesn't look in the mirror and see two things. He doesn't look in the mirror and forget himself. He is faithful and he is the truth. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life. No man goes to the Father, but by me. I am the truth. Now, don't you hear me? The enemy. There's lots of things the enemy would. If you go all the way back to the revelation, there's lots of things that the enemy. There are lots of things that the enemy is trying to mess up. One of the things is the enemy wants to tell you, you have a truth. You do not have a truth. You have a lie, but you don't have a truth. There isn't but one truth. When somebody says to you, I don't care how wealthy she is, that you speak your truth, if it ain't Jesus, it ain't the truth. You need to hear that. The truth is the truth. It's definable. It's not subjective. It's objective. The truth is objective. Subjective truth is. Is a lie. And by the way, if truth is subjective, then no one can ever know the truth because it's a moving target. So anybody who believes in subjective truth, if they're trying to get me to do what they want me to do based off of truth, your truth is no better than my truth. And by the way, your truth is, if it's subjective, is no better than the worst person you can imagine's truth. He who said was called faithful and true. And in righteousness he judges and makes war. He does make war. He makes war on that which is not true. Now, I want you to hear me. I believe in democracy and capitalism, but Jesus is a monarch and he reigns as a benevolent dictator. Also believe in a kingdom. If you take sinful human beings and make them relate to each other, the best way to do it is through democracy. But by the way, very flawed, highly flawed doesn't work very well. I think, as Benjamin Franklin said when they wrote the Declaration of Independence, that we have come up with the greatest form of government. What did he say, Brett? Greatest form of government. And it can only govern a Christian nation. That's right. And it can only govern a Christian nation. He also said it's terrible. You know why? Because there's only one governance that will ever work. And that's when the king of kings is the king. That's the only way it works. We are a member of a kingdom. And we serve a king. His eye. We're going right back to chapter four, ain't we? His eyes are like flame of fire, which means he knows all things. He sees all things. He knows all things. He sees all things. His eyes are like flaming fire. And on his head were many crowns. Many crowns, many victories. He rules all things. He is the Lord of lords and the King of kings. A right perspective of him helps you walk by faith. By the way, Without a right perspective of him, meaning, first of all, he's God. You can't walk through things, you'll stray away. His eyes were like flame of fire. And his head, on his head, many crowns. And he had a name written that no one except him. He had a name written that no one knew except himself. So there's aspects of God that we don't even know. Now that makes sense, because remember, a name is an aspect of his character that we cannot understand. Or no, no. A name is an aspect of a character that is revealed. If I don't know the name, that means I cannot understand it because I cannot comprehend it. So there's aspects to God that are maybe not even humanly comprehensible, Pastor, am I supposed to think about that for a long time? Well, if it's not humanly comprehensible, I don't know how you are, how you get there. I don't know. I don't know how you get there. But I do know this. My God is so great that there. That there's parts of him that even if I fathom him for eternity, I will not know. As you go today, I pray that
the Lord will bless you and keep you, that he'll make his face to shine upon you, and that he will give you hope and peace today in Jesus name.
