This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life. Hi, this is Chad Harrison and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today in Jesus name.
And I saw the beast, the king of the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse and against his army. Now, I want you to hear me. People who talk about Armageddon, they talk about like they're getting together and there's just. Just a big, giant war and all these armies are fighting each other. That is not what Armageddon is, okay? They do. They do gather on the plane of Megiddo, which is a huge plain, okay? Huge. Many hundred square miles, okay? They gather together. I want you to hear me to fight the one riding the horse coming down. The armies of the world gather together to fight Christ. Now I'm hearing Dean in my head. How can you do that? I don't know, Dane. I don't know. Seems stupid to me, too, okay? There's some aspects of this that Dean just can't fathom. You know what I'm talking about? Why would you fight God? Why would you reject God? I don't know. I don't even know. I don't know. But helicopters aren't going to help him. Dean, ain't going to lie to you. Helicopters ain't going to help them. They gather together to fight against God. They gather together to fight against God. The nations do. Why? Because they don't want to be ruled by God and they don't want to receive Jesus. It says they gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse and against his army. Then the beast was captured and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence. Those are the two Antichrist. The beast out of the sea and the beast out of the land. The false prophets. The beast out of the land, okay? They were captured, It says, by which he deceived, though he says. Then the beast was. Was captured. And with the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Remember, what is the image? The image is the. The. The. The false Jesus, the idol that the. That the. That the false prophet brings to life. It's clearly a robot. Artificial intelligent robot, okay? That seems as if it's human. I mean, there's no way that. There's no way that it's. It's clearly that. Okay? Now, they wouldn't have known that 100 years ago, okay? But when you read it now, it's like, hold on. They make an image. Looks like a human being. He makes it, comes to life, and it knows everything. Remember, Satan, when he comes up with the ultimate worship of himself, has to do it only like, what he knows,
because he is not creative. He does not have the image of God.
So what does he do? He says, I'm God. I'm gonna have my Jesus, which is the beast out of the sea. I'm gonna have my Holy Spirit, which is the beast out of the land. And they're going to make. Just like God made in Genesis, they're gon make an image to be worshiped. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you're just going to flip through, okay? You got to go to Hope Alive Revelation. Kathleen's almost done with it. Am I right? We're in like 15 or 16. Chapter 15 or 16. That's why I got to hurry up. All right, it says here, those who worshiped his image, these two were cast alive into the lake of fire, burning with brimstone. Now, you do need to hear this, that hell was not made for humans, is made for the devil and his angels. But that don't mean you don't go there. Okay? So they're cast in the lake of fire. Now, point of order. I'm not getting into this in a lot of depth, but there's a difference between the lake of fire and hell, okay? There's a difference between the two, okay? There's a difference between the bottomless pit and hell. The lake of fire and the bottomless pit are holding areas, okay? They're. They're places of God's wrath and judgment
that are holding areas, all right?
They're not. They're not permanent separation from God, which is hell. Okay, let me say that better than
that, because that's not the complete way to say it.
God is in his wrath. So no one is ever outside of the presence of God, because that means they would be in nothing. So hell is not the absence of God. It's the absence of God's goodness. It is just the presence of his
wrath,
which Jesus is the propitient for. Okay. All right. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeds from the mouth of him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
That's why the birds were invited.
Read me what you've got. The remnant. Those who were left, those who weren't thrown in the lake of fire. Okay, yeah, very good. That's a good question. The new King James says, rest, but those who were not thrown in the lake of fire alive were killed. Now, here. Here's. Let's. Let's finish in our own mind so
we can understand this.
Oftentimes people say, how can God kill people? Okay.
All right.
I want you to hear that, because in that question is a fundamental lack of understanding. Are you with me? And the lack of understanding is, without God, you're already dead. Okay? Because life, true life, is God's life. If you don't have God's life, all you have is bios or zoa, which is fleshly life, which is corrupt, which is dying. And even if you have this very vapid, Minuscule bios, it is broken, corrupt,
and extinguished quickly. Because it is ultimately cursed with death.
And you say, I don't know exactly what all you're saying. I would just encourage you to go
back and think through the words, because I use those words specifically and they're important.
Anybody who does not have life, eternal
life, is already dead.
That's why resurrection power isn't just power for when you're in the grave to be made alive again.
Bios wise, biologically alive.
Eternal life and resurrection power is to take that which is by every measure
dead and make it alive.
It is. It is.
It is.
The defining part of God in him was life, and that life was like to men.
That's the next verse of what John said in John 1.
His existence and his power to create eternal life and to give it as
a gift makes him God, because it's
all knowing, it's all powerful, it's omnipresent,
and it is good. And you should ponder these things. You should ponder these things, because in pondering these things, you are exploring actual life, which means you're exploring Jesus. You should think on these things.
Paul says whatever's all.
He goes through a list, and then he whatever's good. Think on these things. Think on these things. Whatever's true, think on these things. Think on these things.
Why?
Because then I'm pondering reality.
Anything else is death. Anything else is death. And those start lines that are true. You with me? Those start lines that are true are true. Allow me to actually. She busted it. So I heard her little babies. I'll do that.
Want to I.
Those start lines. She can't even breathe. It's coming. You know what I'm talking about. Those stark lines are where you either walk in. I want you to hear me. Darkness and death.
Even if you've even.
Even if you've lied to yourself and made yourself think that you might be
able to see, you're in darkness and death.
If it's not him, there's no light. You following me? And I'll end with this, because I think I told the story this. This week.
Somebody, maybe. It's Sunday morning.
Hank Williams Jr. One of my dad's heroes. And if you're from Butler County, Georgiana, Alabama, which is where he's from, and my dad's family's from Georgiana, then you know you're a hero. He wrote one of Pastor Terry's favorite songs, I Saw the Light. Okay, great song. The last time he sung it was on the stage of the Grand Old Opera. When he walked off the stage, Minnie Pearl said that was a great song, and it always inspired her.
And he said, there ain't no light.
Because even if you have the revelation that there is light, if you do
not walk in it, you are in darkness. And he overdosed on pills and whiskey. Not too many days after that. Even if you sing about it and talk about it, but you do not live in the light. You are in darkness. And the light is the revelation of God by his word. Period. Period. And it is so hard to get it yourself. And when you do get it, it is so hard to get people to see is hard. And it's so easy to get away from it, because all that is in you drags you from it. And only by the grace of God are you not totally dragged away. That's why he has got to be the initiator, the sustainer and the end, he is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning of my life, the end of it, and the Sustainer while I possess it.
So even when you act in faith,
which is the gift that God gives you, He.
He must energize that faith.
And it's very helpful, by the way. It's very helpful
because most people think
they need to do something to be okay with God.
Well, you're wholly inadequate for that. And if you think you're not going to fall and you're not going to fail. Well, it's coming. Just wait. You're going to mess up. You are.
It's the way life is. You are going to do it. The very idea that I would even know that there is light has to come from God.
So for those you are so worried about Hank Williams, Junior. Senior, you better be worried about Junior. But Senior, those of you worried about Senior, I would say to you, at
some point in time, he did know there was light. He just got lost in the darkness,
okay?
And that does happen. God was gracious enough to take him home before he messed it up too bad. You know, that's just the way life goes. Sway it goes.
But it is a word of warning for the young. He will take you home if you determine you're going to walk down a path and never come back to the light. If you've known the light and you're his,
he will take you home. Do not play with that. Do not play with that. Because then you get to miss out on all the work of faith that you could do.
As you go today, I pray that
the Lord will bless you and keep you, that he'll make his face to shine upon you and that he will give you hope and peace today. In Jesus name.
