This is Chad Harrison, and you're listening to Hope Applying God's word to your daily life. Hi, this is Chad Harrison, and I am the teaching pastor of Lake Community Church and have been serving as a pastor for 25 years. I'm also a practicing attorney. This podcast is designed to help you study God's word and find God's will for your life. I pray in the name of Jesus right now that God would open up his word to you and allow you to see him and to know him and to know his will, that you might glorify him and that you might walk in faith and power each and every day, especially today, in Jesus name.

All right, now, do y' all understand that?

Look, if I'm walking down a path

that God has me on, Bible says he orders the steps of the righteous.

If I wander off the path way over there, are you following me? Doesn't mean the path. He doesn't take a bulldozer and say, well, Chad just messed up. I can't believe he messed up, and I just bulldozed the path out. We're gonna have to make a new path from over there to get him where he is.

Nope, that's not how it works.

You go from where you left the path back to where you. Where you were after you left the path, back to where you left the path, and then you start back down the path. So that I walk out. What God has foreordained me to walk out.

Dare I say predestined?

Predestined.

Trying to get my card back. All right, now, I don't have a card. Okay, Y' all do know that, right? All right, so let me.

Let me. Let me. Let me go. Let me get. Let me get you where I need to get you. In Genesis, chapter 17, verse 8. Let me read you the promise. I will give to you and your descendants after you. This is the angel of the Lord speaking to Abraham, who is the angel of the Lord Jesus. I will give you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession. And I will be their God. Notice it's not eternal. Why? Why is it not eternal? Because it wasn't their possession before. He's giving it to them now. It's everlasting. Which means from the moment he, it was given to them, what it's theirs. Till when? Forever, he says. And I'll be their God, and they'll be my people. Now hear me, because. Because this is real important. After they Messed up everything after they didn't do right. You go to Zachariah, chapter 12. He says, he says, verse 10. And I will pour upon the house of David. He's already talking about the nations attacking Jerusalem. Notice, he says, I'm going to pour out on the house of David. Who's David? He's the king.

He's the.

He. He is the type of Christ as the king who reigns. The reason we know that Jesus is coming as a king is because he's going to sit on the throne of David, and that throne is going to be in that city. Notice this is after we've gone through all the patriarchs, we've gone through all the kings, and we've gone through all the major prophets. It says, he says, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication, and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced. So we've got a promise to Abraham. After you go through most of the history of Israel, you've got a prophecy that says that the Jews are going to look on the one they pierced, which is a prophecy of Jesus and his crucifixion. Notice he's. He says before that and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and supplication, he's going to pour that upon them when sometime after they've been. They pierced him. Has he done that yet? Have the Jews turned toward Jesus whom they pierced and had the spirit of grace and supplication? They have it. Have some of them, yes. Has the nation? No, he says, and they shall look upon him who they pierced, and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for his only son. Why? That's why Jesus cried when he came into Jerusalem.

He wept for Jerusalem.

He said, if you would have just known me in your day, the day of your redemption. But they reject him, He says, and it shall be bitterness for him as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. So you have a promise, then. You have a prophecy which is another promise. Okay, you have a covenant with Abraham. You have a promise that comes from prophecy. And the promise is, is that the Jews will reign in Canaan in an everlasting kingdom. The reason I believe that the Jews are going to. That they were going to be in that promised land and that they're eventually going to usher in the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords is not because I've come up with it off the top of my head. It's because God said so. In the Bible, supplication refers to a

humble, earnest and specific petition or prayer made to God, often arising from a deep sense of need, weakness and urgency.

It signifies the heartfelt plea going beyond general prayer to intensely requesting divine grace,

mercy or help in difficult situations. It is repentance. Am I right? I wrote that. That was pretty doggone good. I'm just. The Holy Spirit told me it wasn't really me. All right.

Anything else? But he told me. All right, now let's go to the New Testament. Romans 12. He says.

I think it's verse 25, starting verse 25, and maybe before that.

He says, for I do not desire,

brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery. So what does he want you to not be ignorant? Remember, ignorant doesn't mean incapable of knowing. Ignorant means you don't have the information.

Right.

How many of y' all are ignorant about spiritual things? Yeah, you are. You don't know it all, so that makes you ignorant. All right.

What does Paul say all the time? I would that you not be ignorant. What he's saying is, I want you to know something, lest you should be wise in your own opinion. That blindness, in part, has happened to

Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

So what is he saying there? The Israelites are in ignorance and they've been blinded, and they're being blinded until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. This is the Apostle Paul, the writer of half the New Testament. He didn't believe in Jesus either. Met him on the Damascus road. On the Damascus road. He said, saul, Saul, why have they

persecuted me if you're sitting there going, well, why? It's the wrong person.

No, Saul became Paul. Why you persecuting me? And what did Saul say? Who are you, Lord? Can you be spiritually blind to the truth? Absolutely you can. He says, they are. And they're going to be that way until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. Who are the Gentiles? Us. Have all the Gentiles come in? Nope. And so Israel will be saved at his, as it is written this verse 26. Listen to me again. I told you last week.

I'm going to tell you again this week. My daddy was a man of grace and justice. If he told me once, that was sufficient reason for me to be punished.

Oftentimes he told me two or three times, but after the third time, he

figured I wasn't listening. He was a man of grace.

If you read this Scripture, you realize

God's a great God of grace because

he's telling us Stuff over and over

and over and over again.

But how many times does he have

to say it for it to be real and true? Just once.

And so Israel will be saved. It is written, the deliverer will come out of Zion.

That makes me a Christian, because the

deliverer is going to come out of Zion.

He's going to create a Jewish kingdom. That makes me a Zionist.

I'm going to tell you, I don't

think you can be a Christian. You can be an ignorant Christian and not be a Christian Scientist, but I don't think you can be an unignorant Christian and not be. And be one. Not be one. Yeah, it's willful ignorance. And that'll get you in jail a lot of times.

All right. He says the deliverer will come out of Zion and he will turn away ungodliness. From whom? From Jacob. What's Jacob? Jacob, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. He was Jacob until when? Until he wrestled with God. Who? The angel of the Lord. Jesus. He wrestled with Jesus? And what did Jesus keep saying to him? What's your name? Jacob meets thief and liar.

I really feel sorry for Jacobs when I tell them that means to deceive.

He said after they wrestled

and Jacob

said, my name's Jacob.

He said, your name's not Jacob anymore. Your name is what? Israel. The name of promise, the name of redemption. You need to hear that. Notice he uses Jacob here.

The deliverer come out of Zion and

he will turn away ungodliness because Jacob means the. The flesh lost man. Israel means the man of promise. What is Israel going to be when he comes to fix things? They're going to be lost. Are they lost today? Yeah. But he said, all Israel be saved, Pastor. What does that mean? Well, I could spend an hour on it and I'm not sure I could get you there.

But I can tell you this.

He said, all Israel be saved,

For this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins. What covenant?

The covenant made with Abraham. So you saying in 60 or 70 A.D. that Paul is referring to a covenant made in 2517. We don't not quite sure when Abraham was A.D. i mean BC yes. Why would Paul refer to something so long ago? Because he's referring to a covenant made

by a person that, yes, made the

covenant long time ago, but has been

everywhere at all times.

When he made that covenant and he

knows everything,

He fulfills his promise to Israel.

You need to hear that.

I'm not for Israel being destroyed now. Don't you listen? I got no control over it. And I'm going to tell you, Israel ain't going to be destroyed. It's not going to happen. But I do know this. He does say of the people, everyone who attacks his people, they shall eat of their own flesh and drink of their own blood. If you go throughout history, all the pogroms in history,

all the way up

to Adolf Hitler, you say, well, they didn't have it as bad as. As Japan. Absolutely they did. They had it worse. Japan, they dropped a bomb and everybody died. Germany, they dropped incendiary bombs and they all burned to death. Way more burned in the firebombing of Dresden, then died in the Hiroshima bomb.

I'm just telling you what happened.

That's just history. There's other promises where he says, if you're for Israel, I'm for you. Eight million Jews live in Israel. 8.5. Most of the other 8.5 Jews in the world live where? In the United States?

Not New York City. A lot of them in Florida. Miami. We got a couple in our church. Okay. They're not all there. All right. Revelation 19 says this.

Now, I saw heaven open and behold a white horse.

And him who was in him who

sat on it was called Faithful and True. And in righteousness he judges and makes war.

He has eyes. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and his head, and on his

head were many crowns.

He had a name written that no

one knew except Himself. Nobody could understand it until then. Why would God hold back a name? Because you can't understand it.

He had a name written that no one, no one except him, knew.

He was clothed with a robe dipped

in blood, and his name is called

the Word of God. Notice his robe was dipped in blood, and it's not his blood. Because he comes to make war, but his name is the Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white clean, followed him on white horses. And see, that's why I got to ride a horse, baby. I got to get good at that.

I don't want to be up in heaven.

Jesus say, listen, you can't come to the wedding feast. You got to go over and learn how to ride your horse, right? You think.

You think he can make me be

able to do it? I don't know. We're going to have to pray about that. We'll fast and pray next 21 days. Over that.

Now, out of his mouth goes a sharp sword that with it he should strike the nations, and He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron.

That's right. In the Revelation,

the Word of God's

going to rule them with a rod of iron. The what? The nations. He Him.

He himself treads the wide press of

the fierceness of the wrath of Almighty God.

And he has on his robe

and on his thigh a name written, king of Kings and Lord of Lords. Hallelujah. And he shall reign forever and ever. So I get to the end of the book of the Revelation, and I realize it's very important that I know these things, that I not be ignorant, because there's many lies out there. The deceiver, he's really good and he'll

get you off course really, really fast.

And what he really wants you to do is take a side. I do want you to hear this. He wants you to take a side, okay? In some earthly human struggle, okay?

And if he can get you to

take a side, then he can get you off the right side. And listen, that includes conservatives over liberals too. I'll say it again, I haven't said it in a long time. My dad said he was watching Crossfire one time. That was back when CNN was the only show and they had two guests on Crossfire. If y' all don't even know what Crossfire is, you just need to look it up. You're not old enough if you don't know. And he said, I listened to the Democrat and I realized that he. He was lost. Then he said, I listened to the Republican and I realized he was lost. So he wants you to get you on a side, but there is one

side to be on, and we know

what side that is.

And the reason we know that side

is because we saw Joshua meet the commander of the Lord's host.

Who. Who leads the army out of heaven? Jesus does. Who's the commander of his own host? Jesus is. Who? Who did Joshua meet outside the gates of Jericho? Jesus. Joshua sees him and says, you know what? That's a fine looking soldier right there.

I think I'd like for him to

be on my side. So he goes up to Jesus and he says, whose side are you on, ours or theirs? Jesus said to him, neither. I'm on my own side.

Joshua was sitting there looking at him, going, can I be on your team?

There's not but one side,

and that's God's side. You need to hear that and you need to be knowledgeable and wise to what God says in his word. Now I want you to hear me. You can learn superficial truth, okay? You can learn Bible stories, but I want you to hear me. They're not Bible stories. They're God himself spoken to you. And as long as you remain comfortable, You know, let's not get in it too far. You know,

let's not do that.

Then you'll just stay?

Yeah.

I don't know whether Daniel was actually in lion's den or not. It's a good story. Is it true? You know, I think so. You know, that's not sufficient.

It's not.

And the only reason you're not convinced of it's because you've never. You've never engaged your faith to the point where you're convinced of it. Let me tell you something. I believe I'm going to stand there one day and have a long talk with Shadrach. I'm going to meet me shack somewhere one day and we're going to be

drinking coffee and talking about what it

was like

a bed to go.

We might hang out and worship one day together.

I'm gonna get.

Let him tell his story. Because they all existed and they all went in that furnace. And the fourth man in the furnace kept them alive. I don't think that. I don't believe it. I know it. I know it. I know it. And until you trust God where you. You walked it out with him a little bit. And you can't sit on your hiney and walk it out. You can't do it until you walked it out. You don't have that confidence. You just don't. And there's no way to get it. There's no way to get it until you do it. I can't tell you what it's like until you walk in it. Wind on this tonight. I don't even know what time it is. I mean, it is almost 8 o'.

Clock. Good time.

That's what Pastor Terry used to say. Yeah. Say 30. When I was youth pastor. Somebody. Somebody that I. I did have respect for. And I still do. Said Chad, you. You on fire. You need to. You need to tone it down a little bit. You're gonna burn up. And he really meant it. He said, you need to hold back a little bit. That's what he said. Just kind of calm down, you know, rest a little bit and hold on. And you know what? He was right.

There's a lot of times I burned. I flamed out,

but at least I was on fire, you know what I'm saying? I mean, I've slammed in some walls headlong. I mean, I have, I have, but I was running. I wasn't sitting. So at some point in time, and I say this over and over again. Because what happens is. You need to hear this. What happens is you wake up and the gates of hell can't even slow you down. You take territory that nothing can be, that nobody can stand in front of you. Giant angels fall out of your way. Fallen angels give territory to you. Why? Because you have the. The raiment of the Holy Spirit. You walk in the power of God. All authority in heaven, on earth being given to me. Therefore, you, meaning I, give mine to you. And when you do that, when you get. Ain't never the same. It ain't never the same.

It ain't going to be easy.

You going to fight a lot of battles. You're going to win a lot of victories.

You going to think you got defeated

a couple of times. Sometimes you even going to want to give up.

And Kathleen can tell you there's at

least two times in my ministry where I was just about ready to just give up.

Seriously.

I just turned on the propane tank, lit me up again, said, get in the boat and start rowing. Let's go, let's go, let's go. Quit crying. It ain't that bad. Put some dirt on it. Rub it in. Let's go. That's the way it works. You just keep chasing after God. And it scares some people. And I know it does. I know it does. It's okay. You can be scared. We went through Gideon. I mean, he just kept giving Gideon all kinds of froptons. If you ain't been studying that with us in the morning, I mean, that's a great story. I mean, Gideon, he tells him. He strokes him and tells him he's a man of mighty valor. Then he does both the water on the fleece and the water off the fleece. Then he sends him 22,000 soldiers and tells the fearful. I'm giving you the Bible study this morning. He tells the fearful ones, y' all go home. And Gideon saying, well, I want to go with them. You know, he didn't say that out loud. It's not in there, but you can read it. I mean, you know, Gideon's doing that because the next thing he says to

him is, take them down there. And then he gets rid of. Out of the 10,000, 9,700 more.

And he's sitting there going, sending him home.

And I'm. No, Gideon's going, I want to go home. And then he says, all right, it's time to go down. I've given them into your hands. Gideon's going tonight.

God says, okay, take your buddy with you. Y' all Go down there. I'm gonna give you a sign. So he goes.

He doesn't give him signs. Lots of signs. Sign after sign after sign.

Patience and forbearing. Just patience and forbearing. He just patient. He says, go down there and listen to him.

You gotta get down there.

And fellow says, I had this dream. ************ says, that's the sword of Gideon. Gideon's got to be sitting there going, I ain't even got a sword. I don't know what you're talking about. You know, this is the bad thing about this. I'm going to just tell you how it's going to be for the rest of the time. You can sit there and hold on and not do nothing. And he ain't never gonna stop coming after you. You can hide in the deepest cave and he's there. You can climb the highest mountain. He's there. You can get on a spaceship and go to Mars. He'll meet you at Mars. Are you following me? You can't get away from him, so

you just keep sitting there. If you want to keep sitting there,

you just keep sitting there and he's gonna keep coming.

And by the way, you can't get

rid of him because he's in you.

So it's over with. You can't get away from him. You're his and he's yours and he ain't stopping.

He is the Hound of Heaven. He will chase after you to the ends of the earth, so stop running. Amen. Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask that that which you say in our hearts, we would hear, we would trust and we would believe. In Jesus name, Amen.

As you go today, I pray that

the Lord will bless you and keep you, that he'll make his face to shine upon you and that he will give you hope and peace today. In Jesus name,
